Weedsday

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your optimistic doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It was raining this morning! Hooray! The grass is finally greening up, and the garden is looking better. Do you see Garden Buddha in the picture below? He's found a nice cozy place where he's protected from the rain by the surrounding plants.

Ghostwriter is wishing she had more flowers this summer, but between the drought, and her being sick in June and July, she wasn't able to plant much. However, I wanted to point out that there are still lots of things that are growing like crazy in the yard.

You see? Happy green things growing everywhere!

  2. YAYY for green! FYI letting weeds grow could mean you are part of the movement to re-wild and let nature return where it can:)

  4. Not to worry about those green things. They are pretty too and I'm sure they've appreciated being allowed to go wild. The snow'll soon knock them around, aye?

  6. We love your smile and your yard is SO green and lovely. Our yard was looking pretty good, then the commercial lawn service who does the neighbors cut into our property and mowed down the hemlock tree and flowering plants Mom put in this Spring. She uttered some Spanish HBO words at him.

  10. Funny, we have a garden that is a twin of yours, BOL!
Pawppy always says the amount of weeds we have keeps the yard looking green even during drought times, but this year was so bad even the weeds were wilting...but...now they are growing like the proverbial weeds!! Sigh...

  14. We sure were happy about the rain too. Our pawrents have been complaining that it's been too hot to spend much time in the garden getting rid of those things you showed pictures of but with today's cool weather we think some of them will be leaving today.

  17. Your mommy must be furry pleased with all the green things growing in her garden, especially since she was too sick to plant them herself! What a nice garden!
