Little Birdie

Greetings everyone! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Do you remember my last post about the little birdies getting into my house? Well, it happened again! Except this time it was only one birdie, and we were able to take a couple pictures of her before we were able to coax her to go back outside.

No, this is not just our messy kitchen. Look closely and you will see the birdie sitting on the edge of the dish in front of the hand soap dispenser.

Here she is clinging to the screen on the front door.

We tried to get to the door and open it so she could fly out, but she was too confused and flew away from the door. We finally opened some windows and she found her way out.

Well, that was exhausting! Time for a nap.

Here are a few pictures of our beautiful Fall colors.

And Then Chaos Ensued …

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Starting out today, we did our routine exploration of our territory by looking up, and looking down. Here's what we saw:

There have been lots and lots of birdies eating seeds from our feeders.

They fly around really fast, so some of them just look like blurs in this photo. I decided I should try to get an exclusive interview from some of them. After all, our friendship with Sparrows Incorporated has been going strong for over 13 years!

Hey birdies, come on in for a nice talk!

As I ran towards them, several of them flew into the back door of the garage. Wow! So I showed them how I can open the door to inside the house all by myself.

Right this way, birdies!

Come on in! We'll have some cookies and crackers!

And then chaos ensued! At least five sparrows got into the house and started flying around frantically! They smashed themselves against the windows, and bounced off the walls. A couple fell behind the TV cabinet. I started barking like crazy in an effort to calm them down, while my ghostwriter ran around trying to get them to go back outside! I tried to squeeze myself behind the TV cabinet to rescue the ones back there. But finally ghostwriter managed to get them all outside.

Ghostwriter says that sparrows aren't used to coming into houses.

Oh well. At least I tried to be friendly.

I Found the Stinky Mousie!

Hello everyone! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your proficient doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

I am very proud to say that today I made a big discovery! Please be warned that if you're squeamish, you might not want to see what I found. But if you're a doggie, or a kitty cat, or a science geek like my humans, read on!

Is it time to go out?

Good. Because something smells bad in the garage.

No, it's not the recycling bin, or your old flip-flops…

But I'm getting close …

And here it is!

There's a dead mousie stuck in a hole on the bottom of the trash bin in Dad's workshop!

It must have gotten into the bin somehow,  then tried to slip out through a small hole, and got stuck.

Well, my job is done!
