Hello everyone. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
You may remember a couple days ago, we were outraged at the local Great Grackle Flying PTA (Poop Tosser's Association) calling me and my ghostwriter rude names. Well yesterday it was the Stodgy Robin Society's turn. We went out into the back yard, and Lady Hildegarde Hoppington was up in the silver maple tree yelling at us. Fortunately robins are much more polite than grackles. She only glared at us and said, "boop boop boop boop." The reason for her consternation was this little birdie:

Introducing Miss Dorothy Hoppington-Pinfeathers. |
Hello Miss Dorothy Hoppington-Pinfeathers. I'm Chester L. W. Spaniel, and I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. I would be honored to interview you for my Flower Friday Edition of The Daily Bone. Don't worry, I won't try to catch you.
Apparently her mother didn't think Miss Dorothy was old enough for a public appearance and interview yet, so she instructed her daughter to fly away. Oh well. I said good-bye and hoped she would find lots of big slimy worms for dinner today.
Later that evening I heard the Stodgy Robin Society chorus singing:
Cheery-up cheery-up,
Our beautiful babies are all growing up,
Cheery-up cheery-cheer,
In Chester's yard there's no need to fear …

Isn't that nice of them? |
We also met this little guy:
Ghostwriter found him while pulling up weeds under the birdie feeder. He didn't have anything to say, but peed all over ghostwriter's hands. She brought him to the kitchen sink so she could rinse off her hands before releasing him in the front yard where I would be less likely to find him. I was pretty tired after all that. The rest of that day was dreary, cloudy, and raining.
Now today we saw an incredible sight: sunshine!
Please excuse me for squinting. But after all the rain we've had lately, I'm not used to the glare.
As promised, I'll show you some flowers.

Sweet woodruff blooming in the front yard. Yes, it smells really sweet. |
|
Lily-of-the-valley flowers that haven't quite opened yet. |

Tulips |
My ghostwriter got a lot of flowers on Mother's Day. Wow!
Joey's pear tree still has plenty of blossoms.
Hopefully there will be enough bees to pollinate them so we can have some yummy pears.
News From Blogville
I have a very sad announcement to make now. A good kitty cat friend of ours, named Crocket, had an unfortunate accident earlier this week. His family is devastated! So as a tribute to him, tomorrow is going to be a special remembrance day.
We'll now have a moment of silence.
