Flower Friday And Musical Toots

Hi there! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your arid doggie commentator Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Our area of Western NY has been declared a drought zone. It's been hot and dry for weeks now! We had a bit of a thunder storm a few nights ago, but not enough rain to help much. Ghostwriter has been trying to keep her few flowers watered. But this week, we don't have much to show.

Peppermint with wasp.

Queen Ann's Lace blooming in the neighbor's lawn.

Bird's foot trefoil growing in the dead grass.

Ghostwriter says she should be doing this pretty soon to keep everything alive:

Yeah, a sip of water would be good right about now!

The milkweed is thriving. But we've seen no monarch butterflies or caterpillars on it.

Dad bought ghostwriter a cocker spaniel statue in honor of our Joey dog. She put it near the front step and planted a couple zinnias, some irises, and a coleus around it.

We all still miss our Joey dog!

Here's our random picture of Joey from last year. (I might have been practicing my Pawlympic gymnastic sleeping techniques in the background.)

In other news, ghostwriter's cell phone weather app still thinks we're in for some epic flooding! Here's what it's been saying lately:

Rain throughout tomorrow. Dress appropriately.

It will be rainy tomorrow so you may want to bring an umbrella.

Wet weather continues. Rain for the rest of the day.

There will be rain until the evening.

It will stay rainy the rest of the night.

I think maybe that app is in the wrong hemisphere!

It's a good thing there are the Blogville Pawlympics to watch! Get your clothespins ready because today's big event is Tuneful Farting!

Red and Rover

I kid you not!

So follow your noses over to: easyweimaraner It's a gas! (Oh, and the preferred ammo at our house is brussel's sprouts and baked beans.)

I shall now serenade you with a song that's been handed down through the generations in our family:

Beans, beans, the musical fruit,
The more you eat, the more you toot.
The more you toot, the better you feel,
So eat your beans at every meal!

PS. Ghostwriter had a tough time deciding on a title for today's post.
Here are a few she rejected:

Flower Friday and Fetid Farts
Flower Friday and Not SBDs
Flower Friday and Fart Festival
Flower Friday and Gaseous Pawlympic Event
Flower Friday and Better Out Than In
Flower Friday and Clearing The Air
Flower Friday and TGIF (That Guy Is Farting)
Flower Friday and You Don't Smell Like Roses Either

  2. My son ran in the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. a few years back. My daughter purchased an app to see how he was doing. He ran on water off the coast of Africa! We still get a good laugh over that. Just remember that it is raining somewhere.

  3. Haha that weatherapp works the same as our weather mann in TV. He says: It will be warm and sunny, but we have rain and cold and we even have to use the wood stove, so we can have a little warmth. Maybe they have switched by accident LOL.

  4. You're got some great names for the event. Mom won't give me any more cheddar after the great toot fest following macaroni and cheese night. Harumph!

  7. We have our paws crossed that the rains they are promising for tomorrow really do come. It's been a lot of work to keep our garden going this year.

  9. Crikey Chester ...... great post, mate!! You're turning into a real comedian. That was all VERY funny ..... well except for missing Joey dog and the no rain bit but it'll come. It always does. Those facial expressions had Mum giggling away and so did those titles. Too funny, mate!!

  10. Those are some great titles - they sure would have gotten lots of smiles. But we smile a lot here when we see those pics of Joey Dog. Have a good (and maybe rainy ) weekend.

  15. Maybe that weather report was for here where we even had closed highways yesterday they were so flooded. Wow!
Too bad there was way too much rain in the south:(

Those titles gave the petcretary a good giggle! We know that song too...and we know about how to drop a stink bomb too, Dog-guy did a pawlympic session of those after he stole about half a bag of kitty noms...he didn't eat the whole thing because he was too full, BOL!!
