Puppies!

Hi everyone! This is The Daily Heavenly Bone and we're your doggie ghostwriter reporters Chester L. W. Spaniel and Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel. We're coming to you from across the Rainbow Bridge with pictures of us from 2016.

We figured you're all wondering about our applicants for the job of ace reporter on The Daily Bone. So here's the scoop:

They were both hired!

This is Rosie.

And this is Baby.

They're six month old sisters purebred cocker spaniels. They've been here only five days so far, and still settling in and learning the house rules. But they seem like fast learners.

To be top doggie reporters they'll have to learn a lot more things, like how to strike a pose. Right now, they're so active and wiggly that it's hard to catch a good picture. They're also good at zoomies.

And now you know the news.

Special Report

Hello everyone. This is The Heavenly Daily Bone, and I'm your angelic doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel, along with my esteemed and angelic colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

Lately our ghostwriter has been complaining about the dreary, depressing, gray weather they've been having in WNY. Joey reminded me that the bottom of those clouds may look pretty dark and dismal to you on earth. But the top of the clouds looks just like snow! So we found a few pictures from some years ago of us doggies romping in the snow.

But that's not all we've been doing. One of our friends here, namely Foley who reports on her adventures across the Rainbow Bridge, told us that we can visit our humans in their dreams. And, we can help to find new puppies too. Ghostwriter has been looking for cocker spaniel breeders in the area, but did not expect to actually find anyone right away.

Well, surprise!

A Little Snow

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your ghostwriter.

Over the last week we got a bit of snow. It wasn't much, but it did look pretty clinging to the trees and bushes, and even the blades of grass.

It brought back memories of angels Chester and Joey running in the snowy back yard.

The Evil Squirrel Cartel continues to conduct raids. I had thrown some stale fried noodles out the kitchen window for the birds before it snowed. One squirrel has been finding them under the snow and eating them.

The Double Doggie Homeland Security System would have never stood for that! (Besides chasing that squirrel off the property, they would have eaten those noodles themselves!)

And then, of course, well earned nap would usually follow.

Trying on Wings

Hello everybody! This is The Daily Heavenly Bone and I'm your ghost writer reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel along with my dearest brother Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

Wow! It was really good to talk with Joey dog again! We had a lot to catch up on.

We're going to use some pictures from past posts of The Daily Bone to illustrate some things about our lives as angels over the Rainbow Bridge.

As I mentioned in my last post, I was going to try on some wings and learn to fly with Joey dog who has been over the  Bridge since 2016, and so has a lot more experience than I do in such things.

Apparently it's not so easy to put on wings. Joey laughed at me, and reminded me of a post from 2015 in which I accidentally got myself tangled up in a blanket.

Dork!

Hopefully I'll figure this out eventually. Till then, we'll catch up on on of our favorite things from the past: napping. Sigh … where does the time go?

Learning to Fly

Greetings everyone! This is The Daily Bone and I'm Chester L. W. Spaniel (and now I'm an official ghost writer too!)

This is kind of weird. I mean my ghostwriter was actually the person who was behind the scenes of all my posts, since I can't really type with my doggie paws. (The official meaning of the word, ghostwriter is: someone who is hired to write literary and journalistic works, speeches, or other texts that are officially credited to another person as the author.)

But now that I'm across the Rainbow Bridge, I'm actually a real ghost and can still write stories just like our friend Foley on her doggie blog from Across the Rainbow Bridge. Oh, and she put me in charge of The Heavenly Bone newspaper. I hope I can manage all of that.

Anyway, my ghostwriter says she's starting to get over the crying all the time stage of losing me, although her heart still aches like crazy. I told her to look back at some of my old posts. Specifically the post from December 31, 2013 (link below) in which I wrote what we doggies thought about the humans' annual ritual of reviewing the events of the past year. There was one line in that post that made her laugh out loud for almost a half an hour! The line about doggies who would rather barf all day rather than see something yet again … I'm not sure why that seemed so funny to her. But it made her heart feel a little better.

Meanwhile, I'm going to try on some wings and practice flying with my brother Joey dog.

Wooohoooo!
