All of Winter In a Day

This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your junior doggie reporters Rosie and Baby Spaniel. This is us early yesterday morning:

It was a nice morning, with just a little frost on the grass. But the weather report on every local TV channel said to watch out for a big snow squall with very high winds that was supposed to hit later that day at 5PM, and last for about one hour. We found that hard to believe with the sun coming up in the blue sky, and all the birdies singing.

We even found some little yellow daffodils blooming.

Our ghostwriter said that weather reporting has become very precise and accurate, and that she believed the storm warnings. We puppies were still skeptical, but we kept a watch of the sky anyway.

Sure enough, gray clouds moved in from the west. High winds started and made all the trees and bushes shake. At exactly 5:45PM it started to snow!

It snowed like crazy! We went out to see for ourselves, and were quickly coated!

About one hour later, it stopped, just like the weather report predicted it would.

There was even a nice sunset.

We had lots of fun running in that snow before dark. You tell by all of our footprints.

Then we settled down for a good nights sleep.

This morning it was bright and sunny and most of the snow was melted.

Well, we guess our ghostwriter was right to believe the weather reports. (There sure is a lot to learn!)

Note from ghostwriter:
I'm trying to teach the pups how to strike a pose for the camera, using some treats to get them to sit still and look up. I got a couple good shots. But most looked like these below. Silly pups!

Update

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we are your puppy reporters Rosie and Baby Spaniel.

As you can see, it's snowing here in our back yard. This morning it looked like this for a brief minute:

But that was all the pretty colors the sky had to show us! It soon turned to this

And then the snow came.

It's not that we dislike snow. But this stuff was mixed with rain, which we princess pups are not too fond of. Blah! Our ghostwriter says this is typical Western New York weather for the month of March.

Anyway, on to other news. We noticed that there's been a lot of birdie seed shells scattered all along the back corners and shelves of the garage. We puppies have never met any mousies so far in our lives, but ghostwriter said that this was definitely a mousie type mess. She baited a two mousie traps one night, and placed them on a shelf where we pups could not reach. The next morning, one trap was entirely missing! And the second trap held an actual mousie!

(We kept this picture small in case any of you might be a bit squeamish.) We wish we could have met this mousie on better terms, but we were told mousies can carry ticks and fleas and other diseases. We got to take a brief sniff of it before it was tossed into the trash can. However, the second trap is still missing! We searched all over the garage and haven't found it yet. We'll keep searching with our sharp puppy noses for the missing trap and whatever's caught in it. It can't have gone too far!

We almost forgot! A few days ago we saw our first spring flowers!

There are lots of birdies around too! Our favorites are these two robins. They're so funny! They hop along a few feet away from each other, and then they suddenly fly up and start fighting! They're not very afraid of us doggies either. Sometimes they sit on the fence or in the pear tree not ten feet away and give us the stink eye. Crazy birdies!

Well, that's all for today.

Yeah. Sleepy time!

Now, our angels Chester L. W. Spaniel and Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel would like to show you what our WNY weather was like back in March of 2014. Wow! They had a lot of snow! Check out this link:

Catch Up Time

Hello. This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your adventurous puppy reporters Rosie and Baby Spaniel.

We've had a busy week around here. One minute it's snowing, and the next it's raining, or windy, or all three together. There have been lots of different birdies at the feeders, or singing in the trees, or flying over in big flocks too. We hardly know where to start this report! Here are some pictures, in no particular order (because our ghostwriter can't even remember what order they're in!)

Blue sky with moon

Gray sky with storm clouds

Geese flying over

Grackles

Cardinal and Dove

Fresh snow again

Crazy icicles

Sunset snow squall

Evil Squirrel

We can assure you that we continue to chase those crummy squirrels out of our yard. Oh, and we've also just learned how to catch the few ants that seem to want to come visit us indoors. On top of all that we keep pretty active romping and playing.

Tug-O-War

We follow our humans everywhere. Well, almost everywhere.

Oh, so you're finally done in the bathroom?

And we take lots of sleep breaks to recharge our super power puppy batteries. See you later!

Note from ghostwriter:

I'm sorry we've gotten very behind with our blogging, both visiting our friends and writing The Daily Bone (Princess and Heavenly Editions.) Those two pups keep us crazy busy! Hopefully we'll catch up soon.

I was very surprised, and honored, to see Rosie and Baby featured on our good friend Foley's blog as the Pups of the Week! (link below.) It will probably be some time before our two puppy girlies reach Chester's level of professional journalism. Thank you for the encouragement!

Snow Fun

Hello. This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're the puppy reporters Baby and Rosie Spaniel. We are on location in our back yard where a significant amount of snow has fallen in just a short time.

Around 12 noon our yard looked like this:

By 5PM, it looked like this:

Some of the birdies weren't very happy about the snow. Can you see the three mourning doves sitting in the tree in the picture below?

Mr. Cardinal wasn't too thrilled either!

The birdies finally decided they'd make a run for the birdie feeders before it got dark.

This is the most snow we puppies have ever seen!

Woooohoooo!

The weather reporter guy said it was going to keep snowing until tomorrow.

I guess we'd better rest up for it.

This has been The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, signing out.
