Super Bowl Sunday

Greetings fellow citizens. This is The Daily Bone and we are your enthusiastic doggie reporters Chester L. W. Spaniel and Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

Our ghostwriter left her cell phone at work in the nursing home last night. So there will be no new photos on this doggie blog today. The one above is from January 28. We're sorry if you might have seen it before. Don't worry, she will be going back to work today at 3 and will be sure to retrieve her phone then.

So let's get down to business. Today is Super Bowl Sunday, perhaps the most important American holiday of the entire year. For those of you doggies and kitties who have never experienced one yet, we refer you to the video below. It pretty much covers everything every pet needs to know about their humans during this important event.

Our ghostwriter has been trying to understand the human sport of football for fifty years without success. Therefore, she is not a fan. But she has found a number of alternate things to watch on TV or online while the big game is on. The first is one most of us doggies and kitties, and hamsters too, probably have been watching for the last few years:"The Puppy Bowl" on Animal Planet. (Joey dog and I are still waiting to see a cocker spaniel puppy featured on this show.) Unfortunately, since ghostwriter will be working during the Super Bowl, we doggies will probably not get to watch the Puppy Bowl. Perhaps Dad will record it for us.

Another fun activity to do during the Super Bowl, if you're a science geek, is to watch every Ze Frank "True Facts About … " video on Youtube. Here's one of our favorites below. There are several more and all are incredible geeky and funny too. Plus, you just might learn something interesting about all the unusual animals he talks about. BTW, there are more Ze Frank "Dear Kitten" videos too.

If you are a big fan of Japanese Anime movies, we suggest three specific movies from Studio Ghibli. Here are the trailers. The full movies are available on Youtube, or other streaming video TV channels. This should take up at least the entire Super Bowl Game including the half time presentation. If you have never seen a Studio Ghibli Myazaki movie, then you're in for a treat!

Another thing you can do during the Super Bowl, is go outside and play with your doggie. We happen to have snow to run around in. Have fun with whatever you like to do on this epic holiday!
