Greetings fellow Earthlings. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
Today is Winter Solstice. That means it's the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, and the official start of winter. Here in WNY, the sun officially rose at 7:39AM and set at 4:39PM. At the bottom of this post, you will find a link to site that gives you a scientific explanation of what solstice is, along with some cool charts and pictures. Here's our best shot of the day, the sun at noon:
Mr. Seedcruncher, CEO of Sparrows Incorporated finally made an appearance today. He was kind of in a hurry, though. There was a kitty cat stalking the Sparrows Inc. Country Club in the Sticks.
Fortunately the kitty cat stayed on the other side of the fence. But all the sparrows came out of the sticks and lined up on the fence and the wooden glider. It was like a birdie fire drill!
To make matters worse, there were lots of operatives from the Evil Squirrel Cartel literally hanging around today. Sorry the picture isn't better, but, yes, that is alias Twinkletoes hanging upside-down from the tree talking to Fatty White-ears. I'll have to tell Dad not to put as many peanuts in the birdie feeder tomorrow. I've been running and barking all day!
Fortunately, the sun went down early!
Happy Solstice everyone.
