Strange Fruit

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I’ll be your doggie reporter today.

My ghostwriter went to the farm market today. She didn’t bring me along because I get over excited when there are crowds of people. Sure enough, there were busloads of little kids running around, she said. Usually she gets corn and tomatoes when she goes there. Yum!

There were lots of big orange things called pumpkins. Little kids are crazy about pumpkins for some reason. Joey dog says pumpkins taste OK. I’ll just have to take his word on that.

She also saw some farm animals: sheep and pigs.

She said one pig was the same size, shape, and color as me, and was digging in the dirt. Hey!!!

Upon coming home, she proceeded to unload the bags of stuff she had bought. There were some delicious looking apples, and corn, and … What the heck it those things?

Well, the apples smell good.

My curiosity got the better of me, so I took one of those funny, bumpy, weirdo things.

It turned out to not taste very good. Bleah!

I went back to my homeland security duties.

Zoom!

I received an apple slice for my vigilance. Now that's a lot better!

Oh, I almost forgot. We saw a couple more of those funny, noisy birdies today! There must  be a migration or something.

    1. The gourd tasted terrible. But we baked the acorn squash this evening, and it was delicious!

  2. Dear Chester,

Apples slices are yummy. Pumpkin is even better, but only when it's cooked and mushed up. Then it is super-yum! Tell your person to give you some it is excellent fibre! (At least that's my excuse!)

  3. We don't know much about those silly gourds, but we do love pumpkin - yummers. And apples are pretty tasty too. We see some pumpkins on the porch and we are hoping Mom is going to use them to make us some pumpkin bones.
