Still at Large

This is The Daily Bone. Welcome! I'm your hard-working doggie reporter
Special Agent Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Operatives from the Secretive Bunny Militia are still at large, making raids into my back yard, and targeting the pear tree. They always find the biggest most perfect pears too. This morning there must have been a dozen pears on the ground all with bites taken out! We have no problem with them eating the pears that have fallen down by themselves. There are plenty to share.

Half-eaten pear.

At least they're not actively cutting pears down like the Evil Squirrel Cartel does. But these bunnies are leaving behind piles of their poopies everywhere!

Stinky bunnies! Pfffft!

I've  been on several extensive reconnaissance missions, but still haven't been able to locate their secret hide-away.

This is the root end of the spruce tree that got blown over in a storm last winter. (Yes, the neighbor still hasn't cleaned it up! There are thistles and queen Anne's lace growing on it now.) I suspect this might be a good place for a bunny to hide under. So I made a loud speech here to tell the Secretive Bunny Militia that I'm watching for them, and put out an APB to all the other doggies in the vicinity.

I'm pretty sure the bunnies are getting into my yard next to the gate here. I'm going to maintain vigilance. Sooner or later, I'm going to catch one of those bunnies!

In the meantime, check out all the pears we picked today! Yum!

  4. Those bunnies sure were having a feast...That is quite the haul of pears!

That gave petcretary a pang...she used to have a pear tree in her backyard as a youngster. We had trouble with not only squirrels but grackles who poked holes into them...but neither of the doggies that lived there liked to eat them.

  12. Wow! That is a lot of pears! Bunnies can be as sneaky as squirrels. We have an armadillo sneaking into our yard at night. He digs under our fence and we fill up the hole but it does not deter him. It is maddening!

  13. Those pears look yummy - not the chewed one, but the regular ones. Pear cake? Bunnies can be tricky. Making loud speeches every chance you get should teach them a lesson. Even if they don't, it's fun to make speeches...

  15. Wow, that's a lot of pears. Bet they will be yummy. Glad the bunny militia left some for your humans. Those pesky bunnies leave pellets all over our yard, and Mom doesn't like it because she can't see them when she does poop patrol. She hates it when we try to help her get rid of them:)
