Sleepy Saturday

It's dismal and gray outside. Ghostwriter has to go to work. This is going to be a sleepy day!

Ghostwriter wanted to put up some photos of the beautiful sunsets we've had in the last couple days.

    1. The airport is to the west of us, so we see (and hear) jets all the time. Some Fridays and weekends the National Guard does helicopter training flights. Ghostwriter loves to catch jets and helicopters in her photos. Dad has given up griping when she runs out the front door to catch a picture! (Shut that door! I'm not heating the great outdoors!)

    2. There is an ANG base near us, too.The A10's used to be based there, no longer though. We would get a lot of jet and other military aircraft here they were practicing or getting their 'hours' in. Our skies are a lot quieter now, though sometimes we still get planes and copters. The best viewing was the big lumbering aircraft trainer that was a C series military transport. I always barked em away, BOL! The helicopters sometimes were in groups of 3 or more...and OMD, they made me bark my head off.

Growlmy grew up near Pearson International airport...(in Toronto)...and planes would come right over her house, every couple of minutes. Loud isn't the word...we would have to stop conversation if we were outside.
Then her pawrents moved to an apartment when they downsized, and they could see all the planes coming and going...with a nice background of the Toronto skyline, much nicer from 20 miles away than when you are right in it, BOL! (There were always binoculars on the windowsill...)
