Hello and happy Thanksgiving to all! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your offbeat doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel. We had some computer problems, so I didn't get to post my special Turkey Day TDB report on the correct day. So here it is now.
Thanksgiving is the day everyone in the United States of America says how grateful they are for everything they have. For many, this means travelling great distances, braving airports crowded with grumpy, tired people and screaming kids, and/or driving through massive traffic jams in order to be together with their entire families. A gigantic turkey feast is cooked and consumed. The kids get cranky, while the adults divide up the left-overs, do the dishes, and then collapse on the couch to watch a football game. (Oh, and doggies get to eat all kinds of yummy treats too.)
After so many years of ghostwriter and Dad working in medical related jobs, which meant they almost always had to work on weekends and holidays, we're quite used to hardly ever celebrating things on the correct days. In fact, the four siblings were more than happy to open Christmas presents a day early.
So since we are notorious tradition breakers, ghostwriter decided she was NOT cooking turkey on TG Thursday! Instead, we had pot roast, with gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed vegies, and Key lime pie for dessert. Yum!
And now, here are a couple of our favorite Thanksgiving funnies:
And last but not least, Dad's favorite corny TG day greeting:
Don't be the turkey and …
I know. Pretty bad, huh?

We finally had turkey today, and ghostwriter forgot to take a picture. But don't worry, I got some big pieces of turkey and a few bites of mashed potatoes too! So it's all good!
Yipee!
