The News on Wednesday

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your earnest doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It's been a very busy few days here, and I have a lot of little stories to report. First the good news. My favorite miniature human, Ryan came to visit on Sunday. He's not so miniature any more. But he still runs around like crazy and likes to drive his toy dump truck all over the back yard. Here he found a great hiding place under the bushes.

He always remembers to give me a yum yum doggie treat. I have to sit and be good and take it from his hand gently. Then he says "good dog."

Ghostwriter and Dad went to a class about joint replacement yesterday. Her knee surgery is less than a week away! They said in the class that she has to get up and walk right away and do all sorts of exercises. Dad is supposed to be the "coach" and make sure ghostwriter does all the stuff she's supposed to do. Maybe we can all do them together! She expects to be kicked out of the hospital the day after surgery!

It has been decided that I will go to my Jason human's house while ghostwriter is away. Jason always takes me for walkies and he says the Evil Squirrel Cartel around his yard is made up of really tough, militant, hard-core, garbage can raiding tree rats! Sounds like I have my work cut out for me!

Now I have a sad announcement to make. My friend Buddy from jans funny farm has left his big family and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We are all so sorry for their loss. Please visit them and leave your condolences. Mr. Jack Freckles at pipoandminkoandmrjackfreckles and his petcretary made a beautiful card in his memory.

The local invasion of the stinkbugs continues. There's been a veritable army of them trying to get into my house lately. Ghostwriter keeps flicking them off the screens.

One got in, and even though I know better, I promptly dealt with it.

Gadzooks! Prepare for battle malodorous insect!

I'll crush you in my jaws of death, foul beastie!

Bleh bleh bleh snort bleh!

I hate those reeking arthropods!

Ghostwriter saw my favorite super hero, Ironing Board Man riding on the back of a flat bed truck, at the intersection of Route 15 and Lehigh Station Road. She says there' s a lot of road work going on everywhere. Ironing Board Man must be very busy flattening out the fresh asphalt.

Hooray!

I have this lovely picture that I dedicate to my dearest Princess Leah. We took it last night when the moon was shining over the last rose of the season. There's going to be a full moon tonight!

And finally, everyone has probably heard the news about the horrible attack on innocent concert goers in Las Vegas. Here's a video we often look at during times like this. It kind of puts things into perspective.

  2. We've been having cooler weather so mom only gets 2-3 of those stink bug beasties per day but the weather is going to get warm and humid starting on Friday. We have a funny feeling we'll be busing killing lots of them again soon. UGH!

  5. I am glad you had fun with Ryan. It is important for your mom to put weight on her knee the first day. She is probably going to have a new definition of what ten is on the one to ten pain scale but that is also the worst she will feel. Is she going to PT? That is very important. We know your Mom will rock this and be back playing with you soon

  10. Oh my, lots of little stories. Hope Ghostwriter's surgery goes as it should and that she will be well soon. Great to see you will be able to spend time with Jason (even though there are some seriously militant tree rats living close by).

  12. I hope your mom's knee surgery goes well. I have had two and they just hop you right out of the bed and make you walk. It is no fun but "they" say it helps. Have fun chasing all the squirrels away while you are on vacation. Your little human, Ryan is adorable!

  14. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! I am glad your miniature human is so polite with you. And that he carries treats! Is he fun to play with? Our miniature human grew bigger than our big people, it's weird how that happens! Good luck to your ghostwriter with her knee! Have fun with your Jason person! Keep watching for those squirrels!
