Odds And Ends On Monday

This is The Daily Bone and I'm your trusty doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
Welcome one and all!

Ghostwriter has been working all weekend and is kind of tired today. So I will be personally writing The Daily Bone. And you all know what that means: you never know what I might dig up and throw in! It might be silly. It might be creepy. It might even be amazing. Read on!

First of all we received this photo from our favorite miniature human, Ryan, as he stands in front of his new intergalactic space crawler. Wow! Look at all the great mud it has on it! He's going to have a excellent time with that! It even has a ladder so he can climb up to the cockpit.

We had a big downpour yesterday afternoon. I was watching from my look-out post, when I noticed a mourning dove sitting on a rock below.

He just sat there perfectly still as the rain beaded up and rolled off  his waterproof feathers.

When the rain stopped, he puffed out his feathers and gave them a good preen.

Hi.

This is a photo ghostwriter took out the nursing home window at sunset last night. The clouds look like fluffy squeaky toys!

And now for our garden flowers and bugs report. We found a sporty striped fly on the milkweeds.

Check out this spiffy spider!

We're not sure what this bug is, but there are lots of them around right now.

Ghostwriter took a picture of the cows she sees almost every day on her way to work.

Time for comics!

In other news, my esteemed associate Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel hasn't been feeling well for the past couple days. He's been having unfortunate accidents like diarrhea and vomiting indoors. He hardly ate or drank anything all weekend! Our humans took him to the vet today where he experienced all manner of horrors. He was pretty brave about it, though.

But I might get a yum yum!

The vet thinks he may have some kind of intestinal infection and gave him a shot and medicine to take at home. She also gave him some fluid that went through a needle under his skin because he was dehydrated. Ghostwriter said it was called hypodermalclysis.

Can I  PLEASE go home now?

Ghostwriter made him some chicken and rice soup to eat. I got a sample of it, but was told I have to eat my regular doggie food.

Yum.

Oh, and one more thing. All you doggies out there will be interested to know that ghostwriter blasted the hose on that squirrel nest in our silver maple tree this evening. Not one, not two, but three soggy squirrels came out and ran away! She's going to blast them again later. After a few more drenchings, I'm sure the Evil Squirrel Cartel will be convinced to relocate their headquarters elsewhere! Bwahahahaha!

Screwy squirrels!

Good night.

  3. Awww, poor Joey! Feel better and get well, soon.

What a great machine that new item is in Ryan's collection:))

When growlmy left fur work this afternoon, she furst emptied the rain gauge...when she got back, there was 4 inches in it, and when the storms finally finished emptying themselves ovfur our den there was another inch and a hlaf...5 1/2 inches in one afternoon/evening??? OMD!
Some areas will be like lakes. There was a tornado north of our city that damaged three churches including removing roofs and toppling a brand new steeple. That village (Portland MI), looks like a war zone.Sheesh:(

At least tonight growlmy did not have to move residents out into the hallways, just close all the blinds and drapes...
