Aliens On The Driveway

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, doggies and kitties. This is the Daily Bone and I'm your brave and intrepid doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Aliens invaded our territory today! My esteemed colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel and I barked and barked! Indeed, the Double Doggie Homeland Security System was on high alert!

Bark bark woof woof woof woof woof bark bark woof bark grrr bark woof woof bark grrr bark woof …

We have some spy cam photos of the invaders and their screaming dragon noisy ferocious scary machine monster things. (We were lucky to catch a shot of the garbage truck coming around the corner too.) Sorry if some photos were taken through the screen door. We had to be extra careful the aliens didn't see us spying on them, or else they might discover that we're not giant burly attack doggies. We used our "big boy" barking voices, though.

First they buzzed off all the grass along both sides of the driveway with a screeching buzz cutter machine thing.

Next came the super noisiest most fearsome screaming dragon blower machine thing we've ever heard to blast all the grass bits off the driveway. We could hardly hear ourselves over that din! Ghostwriter went out to face the aliens and sneak a few more photos for us, against our protests.

Bark woof woof bark bark bark bark bark woof woof bark woof woofwoofwoof barkabark bark bark woof woof grrrrrrrr…

Suddenly the noise stopped. Now the aliens were spreading buckets full of vile black stuff all over the driveway. Wow, it smelled terrible! Surely it must be some kind of evil potion. Ghostwriter said it was to seal up the pavement so it wouldn't crack in the winter. A likely story.

After much more valiant and determined barking, the aliens finally took off in their tanker truck full of super stinky sludge stuff.

Ghostwriter brought me outside to survey their work. I was not impressed, even though ghostwriter said they did a good job. The foul odor was overpowering and I was not allowed to set foot on it. Well, I'd say the Double Doggie Homeland Security System did a good job barking those aliens off our territory!

Harumph!

Oh, and today we found a great comic called Ballard Street. You can find it at GoComics.com Here are a few samples:

  8. That sure was a lot of work for those guys. It looks like they did a great job too!! We have concrete driveways here, but Mom wishes we had one like yours. It is super expensive when ours gets cracked. Hope all that stinky and sticky stuff dries before your paws get near it!!
