This and That

Hello! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

I'm happy to report that my ghostwriter actually has today off! Now that it's September, her work schedule goes back to three days a week. That means she gets to spend more time at home with me! Oh, and with Dad too.

Today I don't have anything earth-shattering to report, except a lot of odds and ends.
So here goes:

Our monster hydrangea bush.

A bouquet of sunflowers.

Amazing artwork by Sunny

A salamander at Cook Forest PA (photo by Uncle John.)

Our garden Buddha

Some funnies:

Hmmm… I've been wondering why I haven't seen the moon much lately.

Typical in WNY!

A good find at Goodwill.

Squeaky squeaky squeaky!

My Florida associate Miss Charlee is not too worried about that big storm.

Wow! Sleeping! That's a good idea!

Good night.

Coming up later this week:

Our gigantic silver maple tree is scheduled to be taken down this coming Thursday. It's going to be a massive project that will possibly involve a crane for lifting logs out of the yard. It's sure to be a LOT of noise!

I'll be providing comprehensive coverage. So be sure to tune in Thursday to The Daily Bone!

  1. We are interested to hear about your tree removal!

  2. We'll take 5 of the psycho demonic furrballs. We know where to give them.

  3. I love the fun tidbits in this post - Sunflowers and good finds at the thrift store are always my favorites, and the funnies are good for a grin too! I'm glad the Ghostwriter had the day off. Next holiday stop is Thanksgiving that will be here before we know it!!

I hope all goes well with the tree removal. That's going to be quite the job that needs good canine-supervision!! :-)

  4. Love that kitty plate...well, petcretary told us to say that, tee-hee!

Benji is like that squeaky toy comic.

Oh, MY! Where will all the squirrels run when that tree is gone?? And um...well the yard will be a lot sunnier after it comes down. We found that out when we took out trees years ago. The micro-climate of our yard completely changed!

Too bad petcretary as to work on Thurs...she'll have to check in later...

  5. That certainly is one monster hydrangea and it's just beautiful and we love the happy sunflowers too! We can't wait to hear all about your tree removal, Chester. Stay safe, Miss Charlee.

  6. You sure have lots to talk about Chester. We had a bunch of trees taken out recently (all dying Ash) and it sure was a noisy couple of days for that. Your comics sure did give us a few chuckles too.

  7. Luv your "smiley face" photo ...

  8. Lots of pretty flowers and other nice things to admire. That orange salamander really caught our attention.

  9. That is one giant hydrangea for sure!! Thanks or the giggles and we can't wait to see how the tree removal goes!

  11. OMD Your hydrangea tree is huge!!!
Sorry you have to remove the silver maple
tree it must provide a lot of shade in the summer.
But sometimes we have to for safety reasons.

  12. We are jealous of your hydrangea bush. It is beautiful

  13. HOLY SNEEZE BALLS! That hydrangea is HUUUUUUUGE! And beautifuls! The sunflowers are pretty pawsome too! that salamander looks like a cousin of our lizards ~ he is adorable.
I can't waits to hear the coverage of the tree keeps them on their toes Chester! Peeps needs good snoopervision in these kind of situations!

  14. My mom loves hydrangea but she never has her own! That's a very pretty one!! Glad to hear that your ghostwriter's schedule is back to normal!! She's been working really hard! Hope she gets well-deserved break!

  15. And another tree bites the dust the Amazon Rainforest only with a crane sad. Our hydrangea had no blooms this year but in Nati City the weather has been crap.
