Last Day Of The Year

Greetings fellow doggies, honorable kitties, esteemed humans, and fashionable hermit crabs too! This is The Daily Bone and we're your diligent doggie reporters Chester L. W. Spaniel and Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

It is yet another dreary gray cloudy day in Western New York. This is getting rather tiresome. Where is the snow???  The weather man has been predicting snow for a long time. It's always going to snow next week, but when next week comes along we find out it will be yet another week. While we doggies would love to go romping in some nice, fluffy snow, ghostwriter says be careful what you wish for.

Luckily Joey dog and I had already made plans this week. We took part in the Blogville Howl-i-daze Hijinks Event along with our lady doggie dates, the most regal Princess Leah,
and the lovely Miss Momo.

We played games, and then made a yearbook with pictures of all our wonderful Blogville friends. We even got arrested and thrown in the slammer! (Don't worry. We all got out OK.)

Finally we made our New Year resolutions, and had an epic party!

Please go to the following doggie blogs to see more of our hijinks and fun!

Check out this link to see the delicious yum yums we had to eat there. Thank you Ziggy. The bacon wrapped squirrel was scrumptious!

The liquid refreshments were provided by our good friend Ruby, the queen of margaritas. See the festive cocktails she made for our special occasion by clicking on this link.

We would like to give a big THANK YOU to Stanley and Murphy and their folks, and Dory and her brothers and family for hosting this wonderful event all week long, and allowing us to use a few of the pictures for The Daily Bone.
We would also like to say THANK YOU to our beautiful lady doggies,
Miss Momo and Princess Leah for being our dates.
What a pleasure it was being there with you!

Finally we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
We hope 2016 brings you good health, happiness, peace, and lots of fun times!

We hope the snow will come tomorrow.

Random Patterns

Hello there friends and fans. This is The daily Bone and I'm your astute doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

As you can see, we finally got a bit of snow. It wasn't much, but it made interesting random patterns on the grass. My erudite colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel is demonstrating another section of the yard.

It's melting fast, though. Look at the swamp we have by the compost pile!

Here's a closer look at this half melted snow:

We had a spectacular golden sunset this evening.

Garden Buddha enjoyed catching a few rays from it!

Other than that. it's been kind of boring around here with ghostwriter working day shift this week.

So we went over to join tonight's Howl-i-daze Hijinks. Go and see the trouble we got into there!

Oh, and we found some snowman related comics.
We're sure our friends Frankie and Ernie will enjoy them.

A Dusting

Hello everyone. This is the Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

This is how much snow we got today. A mere sprinkling! Garden Buddha is laughing!

Not much going on here. So we're going over to the Blogville Howl-i-daze Hijinks for Game Night! Come along and join the fun!

Oh and ghostwriter found this comic that she thought was hilarious:

Citizen Dog

Soggy Sunday And Amazing Surprise

Greetings everybody. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your humble doggie host
Chester L. W. Spaniel standing outside in the soggy grass.

As you can see, we still have NO SNOW! It's dark and gloomy, and raining on and off, with temperatures in the low 40's.

Check out this giant puddle!

We've got some mighty good mud too!

There have been no birdies in the trees or the feeders, and only one squirrel who fled the scene as soon as I looked out the window.

But it's a good day for winding down after the holidays.

It's a good thing we made plans to participate in the Blogville Howl-i-daze Hijinks Event! Please click these links to see what's going on today!

NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for this TDB fast-breaking news flash! Ghostwriter was looking out the window at 4:15PM and saw a falcon fly across our yard! It went too fast for her to take a picture. After watching for a while longer, the falcon came back and sat in the silver maple tree, and Dad saw it too! This is probably the bird of prey responsible for the clumps of birdie feathers that we've found in the yard over the past year. Forensics analysis identified three of the birdies who were victims of such attacks—a robin, a mourning dove, and a chickadee—all of whom lived in the Arbor Vitae apartment complex (pictured below) owned by Mr. Mortimer Seedcruncher, CEO of Sparrows Incorporated.

Now I am concerned for all the current little birdie residents who live in the Arbor Vitae apartment complex on a time share for the winter. As you might remember, I signed a contract with Mr. Seedcruncher to keep the Evil Squirrel Cartel away from the birdie feeders, which I have been doing. I have also chased a few kitty cats away from the vicinity. But I don't think there is a clause for predatory birdies like falcons. They're simply too fast for me to 1. spot, 2. get ghostwriter to let me outside and 3. chase away said predator.

Nevertheless, I will be sure to keep a close eye out for this winged perpetrator, and have advised Mr. Seedcruncher to warn all of his tenants to be careful. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Our No Snow Christmas

Hello one and all. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your patient doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel along with my imperturbable colleague Joseph Joey dog) Spaniel.

As you can see, we still have NO SNOW! It's a bit chilly, but basically more like March than December. Here are some beautiful pansies blooming.

Well, never mind the weather. Here's what you'd probably rather see:

Merry Christmas everyone!

Do you see what I got for Ryan? It's an action figure of my favorite super hero Ironing Board Man! Isn't it great?

Ironing Board Man flattened out all the roads so Ryan could drive his cars on them.

Oh and this good doggie belongs to Ryan's Great Grandmother on his mother's side who was also visiting for Christmas. His name is Caesar. He helps her to keep her balance while she's walking.

I was very surprised to receive a wonderful present that I totally wasn't expecting. It's an Ironing Board Man of my very own! Please excuse that the photos are quite blurry. I was so excited, I couldn't stay still!

Ironing Board Man for me?

Really?

Wow!

While ghostwriter had to go to work, my Jason human came over and took me for a walk to see the neighborhood Christmas Eve lights. Do you see the full moon shining on the top of this photo?

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too. Now if you'll excuse us, Joey dog and I have to get ready the Blogville Happy Howl-i-daze Event. Joey dog is so happy that lovely and talented Momo said she'd go with him. Of course, my date will be my dearest Princess Leah. We can hardly wait for the fun to begin!

Please come along and see us at the following sites:

We are lucky doggies! That's for sure!
