Never Too Late For Earth Day!

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your intrepid doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

My ghostwriter had to work the past couple days, so we didn't get to do our annual Earth Day report. But today we went outside in the back yard to check on the state of the earth there. Because of all the cold weather and rain and snow, the ground was kind of wet, and we only saw a few little worms when we looked under the rocks.

I smell worms under this rock …

But there were lots of things growing.

We hoped it would be a sunny day.

But first thing in the morning the clouds rolled in.

And it's been overcast since.

Blah!

We did get one big surprise, though.

One of Lady Ruby Star-Feathersworth's eggs hatched. She sat on the edge of the roof and screamed at us, and clacked her beak impatiently while we took a quick picture.

Her husband, Lord Fitzgerald Feathersworth sat in the maple tree nearby and screeched at us too. We'll leave them alone for the rest of the day. Maybe tomorrow, ghostwriter will have a quick peek to see if the other egg hatches too.

We can't wait to find out what the two youngsters' names are!

  2. So good to see all the different forms of life springing up. I too am wondering what the Lord and Lady's offspring will be called. Hope it's not something that gets them teased in fledgling school!

  4. We have 4 robin eggs in our nest but no one is hatching yet. Isn't it fun to watch the plants emerge from the ground after a long winter?! I love that last happy picture of you, Chester! You are such a cutie!

  5. Chester have I told you lately how very handsome you are? Your wavy furs are always perfectly groomed.
I hope GW is staying well as is the rest of your family and associates.
What a beautiful little little family Lord Fitzgerald and Lady Ruby Star-Feathersworth have.
I know you are all glad to see the green sprouts poking through.
It is overcast and breezy here but we are well so that is what really matters.

  7. How cute! Although I must say that those eggs and the parents look much better than that chick. I hope he grows into it.

PS: I love television and watch a fair bit. Right now no sports (the one good thing about this Corona: no football, cycling, tennis, darts and other stuff my mum wants to watch), but we do try and watch some films and funny shows.

  11. Do you find peeing on the plants helps them grow? That is a super little birdie picture.
