Windy … Again!

Hello everybody! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your steadfast doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

We've had yet more freakish weather here in Western New York! Yesterday there was a thunder storm in the morning. It woke everyone up. Well, actually I woke everyone up, because I am so brave. I'm not afraid of thunder. I bark at it!

Bark bark bark bark bark!

After that we had clear skies and the sun was shining brightly.

It melted most of the snow and made puddles everywhere. But then came the wind. There are reports of gusts reaching 63mph! My ghostwriter had to work last night too. She said it wasn't so bad driving in. But then it started to snow! Driving home on country roads at night in white-out conditions was not so nice. Halfway home, she wondered if she'd make it. But she got home all right, and let me out to see this blizzard weather for myself.

Whoooooosh!

There was no moon to be seen, and snow was blowing everywhere! Yipes! Needless to say, I came right back in, and went to sleep.

Today we still have cloudy skies and that cold, nasty wind.

In fact, because of those conditions, I demanded three yum yum doggie treats for this photo session!

Yum yum yum!

Meanwhile, west of us, this is what's happening on the banks of the Niagara River:

Amazing!

In other news, today is my Joanna human's birthday. Ghostwriter found an old picture of her with her younger sister Jessy.

The whole family went out for lunch at a Japanese place yesterday to celebrate. Here's Miss Lily ordering up some more dumplings:

Hey, nobody brought me any dumplings!

And that's the news for today. I'm going back inside! It's too cold out here!

(Don't worry. I got some mashed potatoes and a few bites of pork roast with my dinner today.)

  1. It sure has been a rough day with all the wind around us Chester. We have had our paws crossed that the power stayed on and we were lucky it did.

    1. We're lucky our power didn't go out. We have a generator in case it does.

  5. Oh, wind is no joke Chester! We gots another Pineapple express coming for us (it's the atmospheric river from Hawaii), it brings LOTS of rain and wind and flooding and landslides. Weather has been nutty this winter all overs! I hopes you gets rid of that wind soon ~ keep warm and stay inside when you can!
Tells Ghostwriter to be careful on those skary roads!

  6. That wind was like an angry roaring lion around here...and we also had freezing rain and snow blowing to make for whiteout conditions. We decided not to drive the 26 miles to our Church, yesterday..best to stay warm and safe. Today was still blustery but not quite as wild. But it sure is cold, Brrr.
There were lots of downed trees and power outs, but thankfully not at our den.

Loved seeing your family, and all the nature pictures andyou know what, your birdies have lots of ther cousins here too.

Angel MJF used to run out the doggy doors to bark the thunder away...it maade him so angry:)

  9. Oh Chester my word above. We heard about the monster winds up your way but that video really and truly sent the message home. I have never seen anything like that.

Your little humans are just so cute...next time you see them give them an extra lick or two

  11. Weather is crazy. It was rainy and warm on Sunday so everything melted. Then it froze so it is like an ice rink. Then it got windy. Then it got too cold to be out. We wait patiently for spring.
