Spring Time?

Greetings fellow bloggers. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your amazed doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It is February 24th. That means it should be cold and snowy outside. Instead, we hit a record high temperature of 67º today!

The sun was shining!

Robins were sitting in the budding silver maple tree.

There were lots of different birdies singing and flying around: purple finches, cardinals, robins, sparrows, crows, starlings, and even screechy old grackles. (Those grackles must have hitched a ride on the jet Dad and ghostwriter flew back from Florida on last week, because ghostwriter saw a lot of them down there too!)

I hope those birdies brought their winter feathers, though.

The local weather man is predicting a return of cold winter temperatures by the weekend!

I've been looking forward to a big blizzard with lots of snow to play in. So far, all we got was a bit of snow that would melt after a couple days.

(Ghostwriter is frowning right now. She says, be careful what you wish for.)

Well anyway, ghostwriter and Dad decided to do some Spring cleaning and opened the windows for some fresh air. Ghostwriter cleaned out her closet, and took lots of bags of clothes to Goodwill. Dad tried to fix the leaky dishwasher, which almost turned into a disaster. Fortunately he was able to stop the water before it flooded the kitchen. He pronounced the dishwasher dead, though.

I'd be glad to wash the dishes. Just saying.

Oh, and I heard that today is International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day.

My late associate Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel would have been happy about that. It was his birthday Feb. 15th. He would have been 15 years old!

And so, we come to an end to what seemed like the first day of Spring.

Zzzzzzzzzzzz …

  1. We've been enjoying this spring weather too. The only problem is our yard is still soggy and muddy so our pawrents won't let us play together out there. Something about not wanting us to get too messy.

  2. The weather is super duper crazy this year!!!

  3. It's weird here too. Super nice, meltin' snow, mud season. But rite now it's 'bout 20 degrees. Brrrr.

  4. Chester Spring has sprung here too in full bloom. We have our windows open and I am dictating the comment from my cat stump that sits at one of their bedroom windows. Sniffing the breezes.
Thank goodness the leak sprung in the dishwasher was plugged.
    Hugs madi your bfff

  5. We've been having beautiful temps here too, Chester! The warmth does make us all smile, right☺ Happy 15th Birthday in Heaven, Joey♥

  6. Our weather is nutty. It was 38. F this morning. It's never 38
    Lily & Edward

  7. We are getting warm weather too. We hope you don't get a lot of snow. I think we have had enough snow for this year.

  8. Well, we think winter may be returning your way soon. We had those beautiful temps for days, now today the temps have dropped a lot and we have rain and snow showers. Like big splats of wet rainsnow, if there is such a thing. All we know is that we don't see any snow on our grass:(

  9. Spring has left us after only a few days. The ground is covered in snow again. Can you hear mom sobbing?

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  10. OMD! Our mom could have been one of those The Summer Tires Club members at the site! Glad this winter has been so good to her...

ps: Happy belated 15th birthday, my lovely partner, Joey Dog!! Miss you. xoxoxo from Momo!!

  11. We've had crazy weather too. 81F Thursday or Friday and then into the 30s last night. But a really nice day today. Does this mean it's going to snow the 4th of July?

  12. We had some lovely way too early springlike weather too...then we had major buckets of rain, and then Saturday we woke up to *snow*! OMD! Now that is all gone again...we are topsy-turvey!

    1. Those special days are kind of hard to have aren't they? But its good to keep those memories close to your heart, because love is forever:)
