Saturday With Joey Dog

Good day everyone! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your quintessential doggie reporter Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel. We have a lot to cover today!

My rotund colleague Chester L. W. Spaniel and I got a nice breakfast to start out the day. Remember that delicious fish and potatoes with vegetables ghostwriter cooked the other day? I got a good portion of it. Chester got a little of it on top of his diet kibble.

Of course he snarfed it up as fast as he could, then came snooping around my bowl.

Hey, go eat you own food!

I have a secret. Do you see that little plant at the bottom of this photo?

A strawberry plant just started growing here, perhaps from a seed dropped from the compost bucket. Anyway, I've been watching it carefully. It looks like the berries are starting to get ripe. Hopefully Chester won't notice them, and I'll get to eat them.

And now I'd like to take a moment to show you some great truck photos ghostwriter took for our favorite miniature human, Ryan, who loves trucks.

Cement truck.

Mail truck.

Schwan's truck. (My favorite!)

Ryan.

Ghostwriter says this is going to be a great weekend. She has three days off and is NOT on call! Plus, she didn't have to work the graveyard shift last night. Hooray!

And now here's an update on the gigantic hunk of meat that Dad bought and threw into the freezer without cutting it into smaller pieces. He took it out and set it on his work bench. It's still frozen solid at this point, and wrapped in its original shrink wrap plastic. He and ghostwriter decided where to make the cuts.

Here is how he cut it:

Kazzzzzzzam!

Two pieces were wrapped and put back into the freezer. One piece is defrosting and will be cooked tomorrow. I heard them saying that they could give the left-overs to me!

Don't tell Chester!

We have some fine, sunny, warm summer weather! Perfect for relaxing in the cool grass!

One last thing:
Happy International Box Day!

  8. I can't believe it's Saturday already! Mom was super duper busy this week after being off a week and the whole world going crazy so it's just been a blur of her leaving and coming back and leaving again. At least Dad was home every night and we had vanilla ice cream (don't tell Mom).

  10. Our dad has never used his miter saw to cut meat. We think that was a fun thing to do.
