Saturday With Joey Dog

Good day everybody! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your cordial doggie host
Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel. Welcome to a relaxing day at home with yours truly!

As you know I am Doggie Chief Inspector, comestibles division, and founder of the Yum Yum Coalition. Therefore I'll focus my report on food! Cooler weather means big pots of home made hot soups and stew. Here we have chili with cheese, along with some rice and tortilla chips. It was very yummy!

Ghostwriter bought a gigantic head of cabbage from the farm market, and plans to make cabbage rolls. Yum! My acquisitive associate Chester L. W. Spaniel just had to snag a leaf for himself. We doggies love vegies!

Now, for the first time ever on The Daily Bone, I will show you how to cook an omelet,
using Grandma Elsie's Original Western Omelet recipe.

The ingredients:
olive oil and a lump of butter
diced onion, ham, and peppers
eggs

Melt the butter in a pan, then add ham, onions, and peppers. Saute on medium heat until softened. Beat the eggs and add to pan. Stir it around gently until the eggs are all cooked.

Serve with buttered whole wheat toast. Of course, I got a generous sample. Heavenly!

The weather report for today called for the possibility of snow! It was 36º this morning, sunny and windy, with big fluffy clouds, but no snow yet.

(Of course ghostwriter still insists that it's going to be 80º tomorrow!)

We doggies thought the weather was quite delightful for running around and barking!

Time for a soothing nap. But not for long!

At precisely 5PM we saw a few snow flakes come down. They were very sparse and melted as soon as they hit the ground. But the clouds had a very wintry look to them.

I have one more item to report. Do you see what's on the door in the picture below?

Chester thought he was going to catch this big wasp!

Bad idea, Chester!

Now it's dinner time! Food again! My favorite subject!

It's spaghetti night here! Come on over!

And so, with a full tummy, I bid you good night!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  4. We are loving the cooler temps here too, but no sign of even a flake of snow!

Mom says it may just be time to make one of those omelets - with lots of peppers and onions:) We hope she gives us a taste, minus the onions.

  7. Wow - you had some good eating there. We had some muffins for breakfast but for lunch Mom made a smoothie out of what appears to be a half of a dead banana, orange juice and yard clippings. It was supposed to be healthy but it was GREEN.
