Earth Day

Happy Earth Day everyone! This is the daily Bone and I'm your 100% organic (meaning precisely, a carbon-based life form) doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

We have a tradition here at The Daily Bone. On Earth Day we take a good long look at the earth in our yard, and take time to appreciate it. After all, good things come from earth.

Here's some good earth around the lilac bush.

Last year's milkweed seeds and a couple evergreen sprouts.

Pretty daffodils.

Some big, fat hostas coming up.

A downy feather in the dirt and grass.

Forget-me-not seedlings.

Irises growing.

Hyacinth, stonecrop, and snow-on-the-mountain.

Woodruff poking through the leaves around the rocks.

Snow-on-the-mountain.

My esteemed colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel and I hope you had an excellent Earth Day!

By the way, we tracked some of that lovely, rich earth into the house so that ghostwriter can appreciate it too. Aren't we good little earth doggies?

Joey dog here. Technically, you're not 100% organic. There's also a certain amount of water, with various types of salt and electrolytes dissolved in it, and, of course in Chester's case, a lot of hot air. Happy Earth Day science geeks!
