First Day Of Autumn

This is The Daily Bone and I'm your enthusiastic doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel along with my esteemed colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel. Welcome to the first day of Autumn!

Today's Google Doodle featured a squirrel hiding behind some gourds to announce the Fall Equinox!

Joey dog is on location in our dining room with a bowl of gourds that ghostwriter purchased a couple days ago. So far, no squirrels have been spotted behind any of them.

Our first day of Fall weather was great! The skies were perfectly blue, and the air was cool and refreshing.

The moon was out early.

The sun set with a yellow glow.

Ghostwriter reported that yesterday, while driving to work in the morning, she saw a squirrel in almost every front yard. They all seemed to be digging holes in the grass. I wonder what the Evil Squirrel Cartel is up to now? After patrolling all day, we only saw one squirrel in our territory who was after the peanuts we put out for the blue jays.

Peanuts? For me?

Nope!

The peanuts are for the jays!

Oh, and we did not see that drone today. Perhaps the bird from the Dogs of C-Kennel had something to do with that!

Tomorrow's going to be another fabulous Autumn day! We can't wait!

Serious Doggies

Good evening kitties and gentlemen, doggies and ladies. This is The Daily Bone and we're your serious doggie reporters Chester L. W. Spaniel and Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

We had a photo session this afternoon. Don't we look professional? We are ready to report the news!

Dad got out the roaring monster scary machine noisy screaming dragon stick eating thing today.

Do you see Joey dog hiding in the bushes? Ghostwriter put us in the house because we were getting kind of nervous about that noisy machine. When we were allowed back outside, we found that the entire stick pile was gone. The monster machine turned them all into mulch!

But then Dad cooked a nice steak dinner. We doggies each got a nice piece of steak.

Yum!

In other news, we saw that drone thing again! Here it is hovering over our bushes this afternoon.

We saw it after dark too. It sounded like a bunch of buzzing bees and had red and green lights on it.

We received news that our dear friend Tricky cat crossed over the rainbow bridge last night.

Our hearts go out to his Mom, Pat, who took such good care of him for thirteen years after she found him as a skin-and-bones kitten on her mountain.

Monday News: Horse Thief!

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and we're your earnest doggie reporters Chester L. W. Spaniel and  Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

It's been an extremely busy day for the Double Doggie Homeland Security System, and it's still early! First came an alien invader stomping around our yard putting some smelly granules on the grass. Ghostwriter says it's just lawn fertilizer. She does not allow pesticides in her yard, because, as loyal readers will know, we love bugs and spiders and other creepy crawlies.

After he left, ghostwriter went out to take pictures of the amazing clouds in the sunny sky.

She heard a strange buzzing sound that she thought was a neighbor with a weed-whipper. She was surprised to see a drone flying around! We apologize for the poor quality of this photo. The drone was light in color against the white clouds, and it moved pretty fast. Upon walking down the driveway, she saw one of the neighbors with a control panel. We doggies think he saw ghostwriter taking pictures of the drone because he soon put it away.

You can be sure I was keeping a keen nose under the door the whole time ghostwriter was outside photographing that!

Next came the Schwann truck, bringing all kinds of good yum yums!

For our final story, we have some sad news from our friend Carol. She and her husband go to Chincoteague a few times a year to help with the famous herd of free ranging ponies. She just reported to us that a little foal named Dreamers Faith has been stolen! Can you believe it?

Here's the information. If you see or hear anything about this poor little stolen pony, please contact the  Chincoteague Police.

It's going to be a busy day!

Fine Sunny Day

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your happy doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

We had a great day today! The sun was shining and the clouds were amazing!

There were lots of jets making lines in the sky.

Do you see the sundog in the picture below?

A big blue morning glory was blooming by the front door.

Garden Buddha was smiling.

Our favorite miniature human, Ryan, came to visit and ran around the yard with me.

And he ate lots of graham crackers too.

The half moon was up in the middle of the day!

Then there was a spectacular sunset!

What more could anyone ask for?

Snooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk!

Summer Day

Good evening everybody. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your pertinacious doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

My ghostwriter has been working, working, working! Today she finally got a chance to take some pictures of the beautiful farmland she passes every day on her way to work and back.

Dairy Farm.

John Deere dealer.

Fields.

We saw some incredible clouds this afternoon.

Can you see the thin crescent moon in this picture?

Oh, but that reminds me. I haven't heard from my favorite Princess in a long time.

Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel here. While Chester wallows in self pity, I'd like to present a quick food review, and remind the ladies that I still don't have a date for the Sadie Hawkins dance in Blogville.

Here's some great Chinese take-out.

For a quick meal there's chicken tenders with biscuits and steamed vegetables.

This is ghostwriter's latest attempt at cooking Indian food.

Hey, I wasn't wallowing!
