Purple Flower Princess Time

Hello everybody! This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your doggie girlie reporters Baby and Rosie Spaniel. 

Today we're going to participate in the Flower Friday blog hop by showing you all of our beautiful purple princess flowers that are blooming today. Aren't they lovely? 

And, just as beautiful as a princess, here's our favorite miniature human Miss Lily. She dressed up in a gorgeous sparkly dress for a dance recital last Sunday which our ghostwriter went to see. 

 

Here she is on the big stage (she's the fourth from the right) as she and her friends performed to Singing in the Rain. 

Now they're dancing to the song, "Let It Go." 

She and her friends were so brave to be up on that big stage! Hooray! 

Later:

Pups: Hey, how come we princess pups didn't get to go and see the dancing? 

GW: Because it was a long show and you pups wouldn't have stayed quiet for that long.

Pups: Nonsense! We would have been perfectly behaved!

GW: Um …

Baby: Hey! Let go of my ear!

Rosie: Well you started it!

Baby: No! You're the one always biting my ears! 

Rosie: Well, you're always pouncing on me and biting my face! 

Baby: Grrrrrrrrr …

Rosie: Grrrrr …

GW: Argh …

Baby: Look look look! I've got a little dancing skirt, and the pom poms on my front paws. 

Rosie: So what? I have the movie star eyes …

GW: Don't start fighting again! It's very un-princess like! Here are some more flowers:

More Critters!

Greetings friends and fans! This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your diligent puppy reporters Rosie and Baby Spaniel. 

You'll never believe what we found in the back yard today! Another baby bunny! Too bad our ghostwriter caught it before we puppies could play with it. She says we're too scary to play with little baby bunnies. 

Hey! We're not scary!

She went on and told us that bunnies are very nervous and get frightened easily, even by us princess puppies. So after a quick photo session, she let it go into the bushes on the other side of the fence. Hopefully it will find it's other siblings there. Well, looking back on our predecessor Chester L. W. Spaniel's hunting reports, ghostwriter may be right. We are, after all, hunting doggies.

But that's not all we found! 

We also found a funny creature that we puppies have never seen before. It hopped around like a bunny, was the same color as the bunnies, and was almost the same size as the bunnies. It had a lot of lumps and bumps, and no fur. Was this an unfortunate mutated alien bunny? Ghostwriter snatched up this creature quickly so we puppies didn't get our princess puppy teeth into it. We don't think that's very fair. We want to play with that funny little animal too! 

Look look look! 

After a couple photos, ghostwriter put the alien creature outside the front door under the arbor vitae bushes. She said it would find a lot of tasty bugs out there.

We pups are so confused now. Do alien mutated bunny creatures eat bugs? (Well, I guess that's not so bad, since we pups snacked on those June bugs that got into our house the other day. But we digress.)

Hi. I'm a June bug. Please don't eat me.

 Anyway, we were finally informed that the funny looking lumpy hopping creature was called a toad. She says she finds them every spring and summer eating bugs in our garden. Furthermore, it would not be a good idea for us puppy princesses to play with it because it has fragile skin and yucky stuff inside of those lumps. 

That was a lot to learn today! You can probably guess what we did next.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz …

And now for a word from our angels Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel and Chester L. W. Spaniel from the other side of the Rainbow Bridge:

Hey puppy girlies! You're doing well with your cocker spaniel hunting skills, even though GW wouldn't let you actually catch those bunnies and the toad. But don't worry. Soon it will be baby grackle time. We know you've probably heard them screeching and squawking in the trees. Soon those baby grackles will be falling out of their nests and flopping around your back yard. Surely GW won't be unhappy if you catch one of those annoying little gargoyles! Bunnies!

 Hi everyone! This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your totally amazed puppy reporters Baby and Rosie Spaniel. 

We were sniffing around in the back yard yesterday and look what we found:

It might not look like much, but under all that fluffy fur was a bunch of baby bunnies! Wow! Our ghostwriter said she saw at least five or six of them. We puppies tried to catch them as they all hopped away in different directions. In fact I, Baby Spaniel actually caught one. But it made a loud squeaky sound that surprised me so much I dropped it. Ghostwriter caught it, and then she caught another one, and called for us pups to follow her into the house. Look look look! 

She held the bunnies so Dad could take a picture, and wouldn't let us doggies get them. Then she took them back outside, without us doggies (can you believe it??!!) and let them go in the bushes on the other side of the fence. She also found two more little bunnies and put them on the other side of the fence to be with their siblings. When we doggies went out next, there were no more bunnies for us to catch. That doesn't seem fair, does it? 

Our predecessor, Chester L. W. Spaniel caught some bunnies and wrote a story about them. (See link below at the end of this post.) We are cocker spaniel hunting doggies too! Besides, why would that mother bunny put her whole nest of babies in OUR yard? 

Harumph!

Flower Fluff

 Greetings friends and fans! This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your curious puppy reporters Rosie and Baby Spaniel. 

It's been nice and sunny outside. We found these amazing things growing in our back yard. Our ghostwriter says they're called dandelions.

They're all over the place!

Upon sniffing them, we discovered that the fluff jumped onto our noses and stuck! Yikes! With further investigation though, we found that they also taste delicious.

Sooooooo … we princess puppies decided to try and eat every flower fluff in the yard. 

A lot of the fluff flew around in every breeze, so we tried to catch it. Wow, we ran really fast! Our princess cocker spaniel ears were flying! 

Wooohoooo! We are the Flower Fluff Girls! 

Amazing Nature Friday!

 Hello everybody! This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your puppy reporters Rosy and Baby Spaniel. 

We girls have been made aware that we have many friends in many places with whom we communicate with via the computer on their blogs. Sometimes they host special events, like Nature Friday and Wordless Wednesday, and Poetic Thursday. Well, today is Friday, so here are some of the wonderful things we've seen through our puppy eyes for the very first time.

 

There were the most amazing skies yesterday!

Today has been just as spectacular!

Check it out! There are three, count them three, crummy rotten squirrels outside eating the birdie seeds! 

All we had to do was show ourselves outside the back door, and those varmints ran away as fast as they could! 

Scram!

And now for a message from our venerable predecessors Chester L. W. Spaniel. and Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel across the Rainbow Bridge.

Hello girlie pups! We wanted to tell you to please be extra careful when dealing with the Evil Squirrel Cartel. Sources tell us they're planning a hostile take-over of all the birdie feeders in the neighborhood. We've been scanning the internet and found a video (see below) in which they show off their fighting abilities. On each other, luckily.

And now we're going to take a quick nap to keep our princess puppy powers fresh. 

We interrupt your regularly scheduled naptime to bring you this fast breaking news story! I'm your excited puppy reporter Rosie Spaniel We saw a big bunny right in our back yard eating birdie seeds the birdies dropped on the ground! Wow! 

Look look look! 

Don't worry. We doggies didn't get to go out until the bunny hopped away. But I think this is the same bunny we puppies chased all over the yard a couple days ago. We now return you to your regularly scheduled sunset, already in progress.
