Chester and the Very Blustery Day

Hello friends! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your dedicated doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Every year about this time, we have a very windy day. My ghostwriter calls it the Battle of the Seasons: Winter vs Spring. Of course, we had to go out into the back yard to see just how fast the wind was blowing, and I was glad to demonstrate with my big cocker spaniel ears.

The highest velocities came in gusts.

Wait for it …

Hurry up wind!

Wow!

Whoosh!

The local weather report said some wind gusts were as much as 60mph! Many trees and power lines were knocked down all over the area. Luckily, our power stayed on.

Despite the wind, we also took a little time to look at some signs of Spring.

Daffodils

Hyacinth

Sweet woodruff

Puppy willows

I think it's time to go in now. My ears are starting to ring! (Just so you know, I got double the doggie treats for these photos.)

In closing, I wanted to give a big thank you to our friends at Meezer's Mews and Terrieristical Woofs for the beautiful picture tribute to my doggie cousin Angus. Aunt Linda and Uncle David were so surprised and touched by this.

  1. You look like the wind could lift you off the ground with those ears flying. It sure was a windy and noisy day but thankfully we didn't loose power either.

  2. Doesn't that wind whipping through your furs feel so good, Chester and we're so happy that you didn't lose power. That always worries us too. What a beautiful tribute to Angus♥

  3. Chester I hope you have some weighters in your Cocker Paws. That is some wind moving your ears about and making your furs stand on end.
That is a beautiful tribute to Angus....you might have told me but I forgot...where in NC do Aunt Linda and Uncle David live?

  4. Wowzers! We get tons of wind too! Kozmo remembers it blowing the before hairy slobbery sister Bob's ears out like yours! We agree about deer. Mom swerved and just about missed the deer, but it stopped! And it took out the whole front end. Mom's car cannot be resurrected.

  10. As I am reading your post we're also having the battle of the Seasons - Winter vs Spring and I've turned the heat on to get that chill out of the air and I'm sure the wind is going to knock that power out in this round that winter seems to be winning!
