Flowers and Crazy Weather

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your dedicated doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

We thought it would never warm up around here in WNY. The first weeks of May were cool and rainy. We even had snow falling as late as May 12! However, on Memorial Day weekend, summer arrived! Suddenly it was 80Âș and more! Now everybody was complaining about being too hot! This warm spell was punctuated by thunderstorms, and cooler temperatures finally prevailed again.

Despite the bipolar weather, the flowers in our yard have exploded into bloom!

Lilac

Chives

Lily-of-the-valley

Sweet woodruff

The bumble bees were bumbling all over the flowers

The dandelions have gone to seed.

A lovely tiger swallow tail butterfly.

Tiny mushrooms

Last Tuesday night there was a big storm to the west of us. My ghostwriter went outside to try to catch a picture of some lightning. She wasn't too lucky, but did get some pretty color flashes.

Yesterday, right around sunset, there was another thunder storm. It moved in really fast, and was over within ten minutes!

But the show was not over yet! When we looked to the east after the storm we saw the moon rise.

Sleepy time!

Good night.

  1. There were storms just north of here Wednesday night...we could have touched them, but we had no rain here...our grass is brown now...and in May we about needed an ark!

We saw a rainbow here, last week, but yours is a lot brighter than ours was.

    Pretty blooms!

  4. Hi, my friend Chester! I have missed you and am sorry I've been AWOL (my angel kitties kind of took over blogging for awhile, wouldn't let me do a thing ...) Anyway, I am happy to see you doing so well and you garden is boo-ti-full as always and I'm glad you and your family are well and good.
