What to Do, What to Do!

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your undaunted doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

I've been watching the news about that horrible, very bad, no good virus thing that's terrorizing the humans right now. There is very little we doggies can do about it. But we can keep our peeps from getting too down in the dumps. So I decided to tell everyone my secret to all the funny and serious expressions I make for The Daily Bone.

And the secret is …

… yummy doggie treats! Yes indeed! My ghostwriter and I have a routine for our photo sessions. She shows me the camera phone, and I know she has doggie treats in her pocket. In response to that I get ready to pose. Upon receiving a treat, several pictures will be taken while I'm chewing it.

Whoops! I dropped that one.

Hey, where did it go?

OK, got it. Crunch, crunch, crunch …

Now I'm waiting for the next one. According to my esteemed and late associate Joseph (Joey dog*) Spaniel, author of the Yum Yum Coalition Guide to Doggie Employment, the standard pay for a photo session is precisely two yum yum doggie treats.

There is another treat coming, right?

OK. Got it. Yum!

Well, I hope this took your mind off the rotten news for a little while.
Please stay safe and healthy.

*Here's a picture of Joey dog from March 2016:

  1. Oh Chester, your photos did bring a huuuuuge smile to my face my furiend! Just the medicine we need right nows! And, I thinks you should gets a raise ~ at least four yum yum doggie treats per session! just sayin'.....
Oh, and Joey Dog was a wise puppers ♥
Keep the peeps safe! And give your Moms a huge slobbery kiss from me for her pawsome work!!!

  2. Now, that was a good show of expressions Chester. Well done!

I hope your Oma is doing fine as well?

    Klem, Mara

  3. You have the most adorable face, Chester.

  4. We've always wondered how your mom caught you making all those cute faces. Around here we don't always get paid for our modeling work. We'll have to put our paws down and demand more.

  5. So informative, C! We never imagined that you were munching all this time. Mom makes me wait because I am not as cute as you when I'm chewing. Drool come out and teeth show that maybe should not show...

    Love and licks,

  6. I get three treats for a photo session. I think you should ask for a raise!

  7. Chester..you and GW have a great routine. Now I'm thinking about how I can instigate the same routine here. I'd love an Oreo or two as a treat.
    Hugs Cecilia

  8. You are well paid, Chester...We only get one treat each...broken into several pieces...sheesh, she is stingy, Grrr! BOL!
Sometimes our chomping images leave much to be desired:)

Looks like you might have had another dusting of snow? We had about 3 inches Sunday night, but it was ALL gone by midday.

Hope you all stay well and safe!

  9. You sure gave us a smile!! Great job Chester!
    Sending good vibes to GW!

  10. Mr Chester L. W. Spaniel your pay is higher than mine ~ I have to do a performance test and Lee get the photo before any talk about payment.

  12. I knew you were a professional model, Chester! Thanks fur the info on your pay scale. I'm currently in negotiations with my mommy, who got 14 years of photos mostly fur free!

  13. Hello Chester.. we're going through very sad time but your post including Joey dog made us smile. Stay safe and happy.. We hope your ghostwriter is doing well after her surgery.

    Pinot and family xoxo

  14. Our first experience with Wegmans was in the early 1980's when my brother in law moved to Syracuse to work for Allied Chemical. He took us to the local Wegmans...it blew our minds.
The Wegmans we went too opened September 2019 here in Raleigh. There is a 2nd one under construction
and there are a few others in the county.
