Looking Back at 2019

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your faithful doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Sorry we haven't had very many posts this last month. But my ghostwriter has been recovering from her right knee replacement. It's been one month since she had the surgery, and the knee is doing very well. She can walk short distances without using crutches.

She says it was very boring being cooped up in the house all last month.

I can play my squeaky toy for you if you're bored!

Speaking of squeaky toys, ghostwriter has another problem to deal with, too. Ever since the surgery, her voice has been hoarse. It doesn't seem to be getting better, and she has problems swallowing things like water too. She thinks maybe during the surgery, her vocal chords got damaged. She has to go and see an ear-nose-throat specialist to figure out what exactly the problem is, and if it will get better. I think she sounds a bit like a squeaky toy. But that didn't cheer her up much.

So then I told her we should at least take a quick look back at 2019.

Lots of snow in January 2019.

February ice.

Starlings mobbed the birdie feeders.

March started out with more snow, and squirrels to chase.

Parking lot glaciers.

Flocks of vultures migrating through in late March.

By April lots of flowers were blooming.

In May, a baby fawn showed up by the nursing home.

The grass was green, and the pear tree was blooming.

In June, I made friends with Lily.

And I met lots of baby robins.

July flowers

Summer thunderstorms brought lots of puddles to splash in!

In August we had a crazy gold finch attacking the car mirrors!

In September, big flocks of sparrows visited our yard.

Our gigantic silver maple tree was cut down.

In October, Canada geese were blocking traffic at the shopping centers.

We saw a beautiful double rainbow!

Some of our peeps had a great time dressing up for Halloween!

Snow in November

More snow in December

Christmas day. Wow! Look at all the presents!

Ryan and Lily had a great Christmas!

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

And now it's time for a long winter nap!

  7. Wow, that year passed by in a big hurry, BOL! Hope 2020 is kind and gentle and full of blessings too!

Petcretary has had a lot of surgeries over the years, and she did get quite hoarse too, but it did go away after a while, but she did not have swallowing issues, other than some pain from the hoarseness. She tells all the anesthesiologists about that and then they use a smaller 'tube'.

Glad all is going as hoped for with the knee. We have no snow here, just mud...and Benji thinks its fun to go and dig in it, then bring in the dirt when he careens in through the doggy door onto the kitchen floor...sigh...and his sidekick Dalton is a mimic par excellance! Phooey.

  12. I love squeaky toys. How fun to have a Ghostwriter/Mom who sounds like a squeaky toy. Well, fun for you, not so much for her. I hope the doctor knows what to do to get her back to 100%. Otherwise, she'll have a new knee AND a new voice.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake
