Hot Summer Days

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your dedicated doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It's the middle of summer here in Western NY, and the weather has been hot and humid. It's not exactly good for running around. But the flowers love it and they're blooming like crazy!

Did I already say that it's kind of hot out here?

We've had some mighty spectacular sunsets too! Here are some pictures from the past several days, in no particular order:

Yeah, and it's pretty hot outside too. In the house it's air conditioned. Just saying.

Ah … That's better!

This is a fast breaking story. Special Agent Bun Bun of the Secretive Bunny Militia was just seen eating chickweed from ghostwriter's garden in the front yard! The picture is a bit grainy because it's taken through a screen on the window. The front yard is out of my jurisdiction, so I didn't get to chase her away. But she was observed picking up a mouthful of dried grass and weeds before she left. Perhaps she's building a nest for some baby bunnies???

A short time later, Dad spotted the bunny too.

I'll be keeping a close watch on this situation and will report any changes. We now return you to your regularly scheduled nap time.

  1. What fun to maybe have baby bunnies hopping around.

  2. Your flowers are all so pretty. They do make us appreciate summer a little more, although we sure wish it didn't have to be so hot:( Our neighborhood is being overrun by those silly bunnies. Some of them don't even run when they see us coming until the very last second.

  3. Love your beautiful flowers and your gorgeous skies! Stay cool in your AC, Chester!

  4. Your flowers look great Chester. We're mostly hanging out inside with the AC too. It's miserable out there.

  5. What gorgeous flowers! We really like the daylilies...and Mama says she LOVES all the beautiful sunsets!

We'll look forward to an update on the bunny situation!!

  7. Bunny?? We need to get over there to evict wait at your den we can't. BOL!

Its so hot and humid here, they have opened cooling shelters. The humid-ex (heat index),was deemed to be 110F. Yikes:(

  8. Ohhhhh, baby bunnies would be much more fun than this crazy heat we're all having! :-) But your flowers are really beautiful, and worth going out into the heat to enjoy, especially if you can go back into the air conditioning!

Take care my friends, stay cool, and have a good weekend!

  9. Your flowers are so very pretty! I can't believe you hae a bunny and maybe some baby bunnies are coming! SQUEEE!

  10. Pretty, pretty, pretty! And many, many more ... but you've the right idea: stay inside where it's cool, cool, cool!

  11. Oh Chester my friend you are the most dependable report of news, wonderful photos and blooms. Thank you for braving the
3H's for this report. Sometimes when we go to bed at 10ish temps are still in the 80's but at least there is no sun.
    Hugs Cecilia

  12. Hey, we have that bunny's cousins living in our yard!! Tell YOUR bunny that her Oregon cousins say 'HI!'

  13. BUNNNNNNIE??! OMD, I have never seen one of those in the furs! I bets it is super duper fun to chase! I wonder where the bunnie nest is located.....maybe you can chase little buns in a while.....☺
Stay cool my furiend, we gets that hot, butts usually not humid ~ Ma said she would melt. I believes her.
