Busy Times

Hello friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your faithful doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

There has been a lot going in our family lately. First of all our Oma was moved from her nursing home, that was a 70 mile drive from here, to the one where my ghostwriter works, which is only a 15 minute drive. So now she'll get to see ghostwriter every day she goes to work. Plus she'll get to come to our house for dinner on Sundays and holidays and birthdays, and the siblings will be able to visit her more easily. Here she is on her 92nd birthday!

Our Auntie Linda came to visit too!

Look look look lookie look! Ryan started kindergarten!

Hooray!

Dad has been cleaning up his workshop for the season. You'll notice Mr. Bones Daily is still the Garage Night Watchman.

But I still don't think he does a heck of a lot other than hang around! He certainly didn't find those mousies who were pilfering the birdie seeds!

My ghostwriter put out snap traps baited with peanut butter. The first night we didn't catch anything. But the next night, we caught two! We're always sorry to have to kill anything, but these snap traps do it lightning fast. I got to sniff the mousies, but then ghostwriter tossed them in the trash can.

Bye bye mousies!

Moving on to more toothsome news, I know I have been remiss in my food reporting. My late colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel would be disappointed in me! This first picture is another one of ghostwriter's attempts at cooking Indian food. Here is chana masala with paneer, chicken tikka, and basmati rice atop some naan bread. She though it came out pretty good. I thought it was all delicious!

Here is something totally new: Cajun sausage and shrimp sauteed with vegetables, and fresh corn on the cob. Yummy!

With the changing weather here, the sky has been very interesting, at least according to ghostwriter.

High scalloped clouds.

Bright sun with giant puffy clouds.

National Guard chopper flying right overhead.

A crazy guy flying around in a motorized hang glider thing.

And spectacular sunsets!

As you know, my ghostwriter always has her head in the clouds!

Oh, and she spotted a flock of geese walking around the parking lot in front of the doctor's office. (No idea what they were doing there!)

Whew! That was a lot of reporting! Time for sleepies!

Wonderful for your GW to have Oma so close by! A win for all:) Woofs from me and purrs from Pipo to greet her in her new place!

Those ex-mousies look like deer mice? We get those here in our cellar, later when the weather turns cold and they start looking for warmer spots.

Those are very lovely sunsets and clouds!

    Woofs!

  7. Wow! You had a lot of news today. First, we are sooooooo happy for your Oma moving closer and where Ghostwriter works. That is the best. You know we know all about cajun sausages being from Louisiana. Have you made gumbo? Yumbo!! Yay for kindergarten too. We do not like mice either.

  11. So nice to have Oma so close now. We have caught 2 mice and there is signs so at least one more, sigh! We use s humane trap unless they get out of control. Your lady is brave. Our man has to deal with them.

  12. That WAS one very big report, Chester, but we enjoyed all of it. We are happy to hear that Oma is now closer, great for her and for Ghostwriter. It is hard for us to believe that Ryan is already in kindergarten, but then too Mom says she can't believe that two of her grands started high school this year.

That is quite the flock of geese - we saw a big group of wild turkeys hanging out in the donkeys' yard last night. Lucky for them the donkeys were in the barn.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  13. Wow, you have been very busy! We are glad your Oma is very close to you now. And it looks like you are still eating well! So much better than the gruel we have at our house! Mom was interested in the clouds cuz she and dad are taking a meteorology class this semester.

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley
