The Big Snow

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your snow bound doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It looked like this on Thursday night at 10pm:

By midnight it looked like this:

In the morning it was a winter wonderland!

Whoa! A bit deep, I'd say.

Here's Dad clearing the driveway. That was a big job! Around here, they call this heart attack snow, because it's so heavy. It's a good thing he had the roaring dragon noisy scary snow machine blower monster thing to help out!

The snow on the bush at the right looks like a gargoyle.

Ghostwriter had to go to work. Fortunately the snow plows had been working all night and the roads were in good shape.

Today the snow is already starting to melt a bit. But it's still pretty deep and heavy.

I haven't seen any squirrels around the last couple days. I think the snow's too deep for them!

Squirrels. Pfft!

It was kind of tough for me to zoom around in it too.

It's up to my chin here!

But I got lots of yum yum doggie treats for posing out in the snow.

We actually saw a little sunshine this afternoon. But it soon clouded over again.

Here are a few more snow pictures for our friends who live in warmer climates.

View from front door.

Dad's car.

Jason's car.

Along Route 15.

Geese flying.

Ryan had some fun in the snow and went sledding with his family today.

Hooray!

One other story from this week: Ghostwriter was driving home along the NY State Thruway after visiting Oma on Monday. Just before the Pembroke exit, all traffic was made to exit because of one crazy guy. See link to article below. Ghostwriter got stuck in a huge traffic jam, as all the thruway traffic, including trucks, got rerouted along the country roads and then through the town of Batavia. It took her several extra hours to get home that day!

Oh, and a quick note to all our Blogville friends. Our Oma has been sick and was in the hospital last week. She's getting better now. But we've gotten behind on reading everyone's bloggies. We'll try to catch up as best we can.

  3. We heard about that monster snow heading your way. Boy the weather geeks were right.
We are in 200% amazement at how quickly your major roads are cleared. Just 3 or 4 inches can keep us snowbound. Your snow crew deserves tons of KUDOS!!

It only takes one crazy person to mess up things right?

Extra hugs to OMA and GW and you and Dad

  4. Great report, C. We had some snow, but it was NOT up to my chin. I think you were very brave out there. So were your parents. We hope Oma is feeling 100% better soon.

    Love and licks,

  6. That's quite a bit of snow. Mom used to live in Cleveland and remembers her first morning there after moving from several states away and there was 30 inches. Abby Lab
