I Think We Skipped Winter!

Hello ladies and kitty cats, gentlemen and doggies, and hermit crab girls too. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel along with my erudite associate Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

As you can see, we were squinting in the bright sun today! Indeed, it was warm and bright and windy out! The weather forecast calls for more of the same through this week. If this keeps up, all the spring flowers will be blooming! In the garden you can see the daffodil leaves poking out of the leaf litter.

Look at all the robins!

I think I'll need some sunglasses if this sun keeps shining!

We found a picture of our back yard one year ago. Wow! A snow storm!

We also found a photo from February 2014! Tons of snow!

Here it is today! We wonder if winter has skipped up this year.

And now we're going back inside with Joey dog.

Thanks Chester. Since last weekend ghostwriter had to work and didn't have a chance to do my Saturday With Joey Dog section, here is my belated food report, featuring some old stand-by comfort food.

Spaghetti and meatballs.

Tuna casserole with vegetables.

Delicious beef stew with mashed potatoes.

We have lots of birthdays this month. Today is our John human's (Ryan's Dad) birthday. Groundhog day tomorrow is also our Dad's birthday. Our favorite miniature human Ryan turns three on the 18th. Our Joanna has a birthday on the 25th. And your's truly will be 14 years old on February 15!  I'm glad to say I intend to remain Doggie Chief Inspector, comestibles division, for at least a couple more years.

This brings us to this story we found today (link below.) Bring out the tissues because it's a tear-jerker, especially if you know cocker spaniels. But don't worry. It has a happy ending. This story really touched us because the doggie named Cookie looks very much like our patron saint Old Miss Charisma. Take a look at the pictures in the story and see if Cookie doesn't look just like Charisma!

This is our Charisma.

Now we'll say good night with the beautiful sunset we watched today.

  3. Crikey .... you sure fat a lot into your post today, aye?? I'm going to fit a lot into my comment too. First off thanks for the snow pics from LAST year. You think you're disappointed that winter has missed you? That's nothing compared to how disappointed I am. All those snow pics I've missed. Next Joeys food report ...... my choice is the spag bol thanks. AND Miss Charisma and Cookie!! They do look alike, aye? How could anyone do that to their dog that has been loyal and faithful to them for all those years? She's better off without them. I'm glad you found a photo of Charisma. Have you got one of Ginger to show us too. Your Mom mightn't have many photos of them but she's sure got plenty of you two. She's a fast learner, aye? Doesn't make the same mistake twice. Oh ..... and that sky is just beautiful.
