Chilly Monday

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I’m your robust doggie correspondent Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Before I begin my report, I wanted you all to know my ghostwriter made it home from work OK last night. She said if she had gotten out just ten or fifteen minutes later, it would have been a hellish drive. Just as she got to within a couple miles from our house, it started snowing heavily. The blasting wind whipped it into white-out conditions, and the roads were quickly getting covered with snow and ice. But she made it home!

Today it’s very cold and windy. There was a big white plastic bag stuck in our neighbor’s garden that kept flapping in the wind, causing me continuous confusion, concern, and consternation whenever I went out: bark bark bark! It’s a UFO (unidentified flapping object) and it’s bark bark bark bark bark flapping in the wind! Bark bark bark bark bark bark!

Oh look! Dad picked up that nasty flapping bag! It's safe to go out again!

Now I can play with the tennis ball without the distraction of that annoying flapping bag! Hooray!

And a good time was had by all!

  2. Hi Chester & Joey, you guys are so cool. We have a question - why is it that when there's an annoying and distracting disturbance coming from the neighbor's house, that that neighbor never seems to notice? Like the neighbor across the street from us, whose truck alarm goes off at 2 AM (or some other early hour) and sounds for 90 seconds and yet no one in his house seems to notice? Anyways, we're glad to see two fellow cockers having fun.

  3. One day Mr. Boomboom car drove by with his stereo blasting, parked in his driveway across the street from us, and left the loud music on. Maybe he thought everyone else would enjoy it as much as he did. Mom marched right over there and yelled at him. He's been a lot quieter since then and that was about two years ago! She doesn't mind being the crazy old lady neighbor who yells at people when they are inconsiderate! Our neighbor with the bag stuck in the bush is usually very quiet. She lives alone and works a lot. We don't mind picking up stuff that flies into her yard on garbage day. (We probably woke up Mr. Boomboom with our barking this morning, thought! haha!)

Growlmy had to drive home tonight in near whiteout conditions, too. Lake effect streamers are almost as bad as a real storm We may get 5 inches...and its about 5F, right now.

    1. And our neighbor has a bag hanging in a tree that neither wind, rain or snow can dislodge, its too high to grab...we mentioned it to them...but its still there, 2 winters later...OMD:(
I barked it real good to come down back then, but I have given up..its more fun to bark their cat or dog or the myriads of family that comes and goes there...
