G'day blokes and sheilas! This is The Daily Bone and we're your snowbound doggie reporters
Chester L. W. Spaniel and Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.
Crikey … Our good friend Charlie from Australia charliedownunderinoz wanted to see more pictures of our wonderful snow.
So here we go!
Here's our house.
This is our front yard.
This is what the main roads looked like yesterday afternoon.
The snow plow didn't get to our street until after dark! (It looks like a scary monster, doesn't it?)
This is the stuff that accumulates in the wheel wells after driving around on sloppy, slushy roads!
They're affectionately known as "car boogers" and they litter every street, parking lot,
and driveway this time of year.
This giant snow drift forms on the roof every winter.
This year it looks like a space alien with icicles hanging off it!
Birdie!
That's all for now. (Ghostwriter has been up since 5am.) Please tune in to The Daily Bone tomorrow for snow updates, and snow pictures, and us doggies romping in the snow, and the snow mountains, and icicles, and maybe even squirrels in the snow, and snow birdies, and snow storms. Good night!
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, doggies and kitties. This is The Daily Bone and I’m your winsome doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel along with my esteemed colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.
Here we are waking up in the morning and wondering what the day will bring. Ghostwriter finally had a day off so we can be sure that we’ll be going outside for photo sessions.
Sun through icicles.
Two squirrels! Do you see them both?
Sneaking towards the bird feeder.
On second thought …
Bark bark bark bark!
Do you see this squirrel? Just follow my nose.
Meanwhile, in the front yard, there was a snow blower driving around clearing the sidewalks. Too bad they completely missed our sidewalk and made a nice neat path right over the lawn!
Right after the sun went down, there was a spectacular sight in the western sky:
A blue moon with Venus and Mars next to it! This photo doesn't do it justice!
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, doggies and kitties. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your indomitable doggie correspondent Chester L. W. Spaniel along with my intrepid associate Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.
Our ghostwriter worked all day, so didn't do a proper photo session of us doggies in the snow. But she did take pictures of the weather. This is how it looked from her car in the nursing home parking lot before she headed home at 3:30PM:
Here's the small town she drives through every day on her way home:
But by the time she got home, the weather completely changed. This is how it looked then:
This phenomenon is known as a snow squall: a narrow band of clouds that produces heavy snow and high winds. We watched as the squall crept closer to our house.
The sun set looked like this:
Gale force winds were blowing and it was 5º out. Ghostwriter almost froze her fingers off taking pictures! But we didn't get the heavy snow. The clouds must have run out of snow by the time they reached us. Oh, and by the way, this is how our house looked this afternoon:
We doggies would like to make an announcement for the sake of our ghostwriter.
We have enough snow and ice. Thank you very much Mother Nature, but we don't need any more …
… unless you're this crazy guy:
(Ghostwriter grew up in Niagara Falls NY, and used to visit the Falls all the time in winter to see the beautiful ice formations. But no one she knew ever tried to climb up it!)
