Oh Dear!

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition. I'm your astute doggie reporter Rosie Spaniel.

My ghostwriter brought me and my sister Baby Spaniel to visit Dad at the nursing home today. (We go there almost every day at lunch time.) Dad has a private room with a view of the garden. Beyond the garden is a small thicket that deer sometimes visit. Today we not only saw the deer, but got pictures too!

Here's my sister, Baby Spaniel with our next story.

The local weather news has been telling us that there has been a large amount of wild fire smoke in the air this week. We doggies don't really understand meteorology, but we're told that all of this smoke is not good for people with allergies and breathing problems. However, on the bright side of this is that it makes the sun and the moon look orange, and creates some spectacular sunsets.

We feel sad for all the trees that are burning, and all those people and animals in the fire's path.

That's all for now. It's Princess nap time.

  1. Your nappy time together is quite adorable. Maybe you won't have as much yard time if your air gets too smoky, it's not good to breathe that in (but I'm sure your Mommy knows all about that and will keep you safe). The deer are very cute, they must be young 'uns since they still carry their "spots". Wondering if you get to visit Daddy sometimes, he loved you alot, like he loved Chester, and probably misses his puppers. We hope he is getting better. Well, we look forward to the next time you are here and we can visit you. But mine Mommy has a question first: can we add your LINK on the blogosphere please, for you, so other old friends can come visit? Happy to do it, if it's OK ... til then, bye from Ann and June, the Cat

  2. How fun to be able to see those beautiful deer while you visit your Daddy! It seems like the wildfire smoke seems to be in almost every corner of Blogville....I know we have some here in New MExico today too!

  3. The deer are so pretty and the fawn twins are adorable and the sunsets are beautiful but the best picture is the two of you sleeping side by side!

  4. Those twin fawns are so cute, but not as cute as you two sleeping together are.

  5. WOW...you two sure have grown up a lot. Wish I had some deer to look at around here. But all we have are coyotes and bobcats walking around at night. Pretty sky pictures too! And thank you for stopping by our old blog. Shelby was happy to meet you.

  6. We bet your Dad is so happy to see you two and Ghostwriter. We had a deer in our next door neighbor's yard in May. It stayed grazing all over the yard for about a half hour. Of course, Mom made us stay inside.

The fires are terrible and so destructive, but the sunsets you captured are so beautiful.
