This is a question for my blogger friends on blogspot.
Have you ever had Google Domains tell you to pay for your blog domain? Besides The Daily Bone, I've been working on some short stories on blogspot for the past several months, which I have not published yet. Now Google is telling me they were unable to update them. In order to update them, they say I have to pay a fee for the domain, or else they'll delete it. I have the text saved on my writing programs in my computer, so I don't care if they delete these. I have never seen anything like that of The Daily Bone. By the way, I have not had The Daily Bone updated either. I thought it would happen automatically, and it never did. Or did I miss something?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Oh no Chester.....I have often worried about that but thus far nothing. I do have Madi's Poems under another blog I add one too it each Thursday w/o any problems. However I have not tried to do anything with it. My blog automatically switched over to the new format. Looks like thus far you your blog is working ok. I'm sorry I am absolutely helpless when I see the word 'domain'. I have said for years once blogger starts to charge I don't know what I'll do.

I think the blogger stuff is free unless you want to 'claim' a particular domain as your own. Not too sure what is going on there, unless you started something different under the same name? We used to be able to add pages, which I never did. So there would be a drop down menu at the top of our main blog. Maybe Kim at Kinley Westie could help you, she seems to have a good knowledge of things blog.
ReplyDeleteI do not pay either...if its not free, I can't afford it, LOL! (But somewhere I did see there is some kind of limit on the amount of GB you can have in your free blog. Same at WordPress, which is even more complicated and frustrating.
Maybe as some others have said, it IS a scam, trying to cheat you out of your info...and money. I would not respond.
DeleteWe don't use Blogger but are you sure that notice isn't spam? That sounds like something some nefarious person would do to get your credit card info.
ReplyDeleteWe agree with Millie and Walter - sounds very odd. We hope you can figure it out.
ReplyDeleteMom said to tell you that those two puzzles were Christmas gifts, but she gets most of her puzzles at Hobby Lobby or on Amazon. Sometimes she buys from White Mountain Puzzles too.

I have always ben on Blogger and never received anything like that. I'm suspicious also and certainly would not give them any information. Ask about it on Blogger help.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen anything like that, and neither has Momma. She says definitely verify it's not spam through the Blogger address directly before you do anything else.
ReplyDeleteThis has never happened to us. I would definitely check it out.
ReplyDeleteOn blogger never heard of this. Sounds fishy!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible someone is scamming you?
ReplyDeleteMy dear friend Chester... Blogspot.com is FREE service!! Please do not pay for the scammer.
ReplyDeleteHello Friends! I had this a while back, and as I recall, other bloggers did too. I ignored it, and I'm still here. But I thought that you could buy a "domain-name or blog name" if you're worried that someone may want to pay to have it ... I would google it/ do a search and see if you can find out. Here's something I found about it that may be a start in your search.
