Long Time No See

Hello everyone. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your steadfast doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It's been a while since I last posted an article in The Daily Bone. My ghostwriter has been working a lot again. Thursday night she had to work until 3am! She said that when she was walking out to her car, she heard robins singing. At 3AM!!! Crazy birdies! She also saw a herd of deer grazing on the nursing home lawn. They didn't even run away when she got in the car, and turned on the engine and the lights!

Maybe they were having a party.

I, however, was sound asleep, and didn't even hear her come home.

Sorry.

Anyhow, she is pleased to announce that the nursing home where she works is now Covid free! But they're going to continue their vigilance and quarantine for several more weeks just to be totally safe.

Better safe than sorry!

We have been seeing stuff on the TV and on social media that some people are revolting against wearing masks for protection from the Covid-19 virus, and think their basic human rights are being violated. To this my ghostwriter says the following: Have you ever actually seen someone die from this virus? It's a horrible death! As a nurse, she's seen it first hand. Just because you might not give a crap about your own life, doesn't give you the right to infect others. You can be a carrier and not have any symptoms. Seriously, just wear the mask!

Yeah! That's telling them!

In other news, I have a few pictures of the flowers in my garden to show you.

I found some funny comics about my favorite subject: squeaky toys!

Ryan and Lily took all their squeaky toys and put them in the pool to swim in. Wow!

That many squeaky toys would boggle my mind!

I think that's all I have to report right now.

It's sleepy time. Good night.

  1. Hey CHester and GW...we have missed your reports but knew GW was very very busy looking after all the dear folks at the facility. Such very noble work and we thank her. My mom was in assisted living. I know how hard the staff works to keep everyone safe.
YES EVERY JUST STOP WHINING AND WEAR THE MASK.
YOUR flowers are gorgeous especially the deep purple..they look like velvet.
Ryan and Lily are in squeaky paradise. Well done on the cartoons.

  4. Hi Chester! It's so good to hear from you and your Ghostwriter. We're proud of how she and the rest of the staff are doing their best to keep your Oma and the rest in their care healthy. It's too bad that some people (and we know who they are) have politicized the use of masks. There have been some recent improvements from a few politicians where Covid-19 has hit hard recently to encourage wearing masks but they still won't mandate it.

Your flowers are so pretty. We have the same clematis and it is blooming now too. Those cartoons gave us some good chuckles. We can't believe how many toys Ryan and Lily have!

  5. Ghostwriter is so right - wear the darn mask!!! Mom and Dad do whenever they go somewhere; that isn't very often but it is important to do the right thing.

    Your flowers are so beautiful.

Thanks for the kind welcome home for Misty.

  6. I wish more people would listen to you. They have no idea what it means to be an American. The head of the protests in Maryland against social distancing has the virus. I say HAH!

  7. That's wonderful to hear that you're Covid-free and we agree with Ghostwriter - wear the mask and social distance! It could cost you your life! Love your beautiful flowers!

  8. Hi Chester, you sure are looking ever so handsome in all your pictures! And tell your Hu-Mom, oh yes, oh yes: masks, masks, masks! In fact, me (Dougie Dog) I am wearing mine today!
    Stay well, stay happy!

  9. Love the deep purple flowers. And the funnies. We are fortunately getting on top of it now, hardly any admissions into hospital any more and the death rate is close to zero. Slowly we are getting back to the new normal of keeping your distance but being allowed to do nearly all again.

  10. Thanks for the update, C. Yay for the nursing home being Covid-free. Prayers that it will stay that way forever. It's too scary otherwise!

  13. Petcretary and her family wear the masks even in Church! Its hard to sing with those on, but they do it anyways, cause singing can really throw viruses afar.

And our building has only had 2 employees with the covid virus, we are keeping our quarantine very active for now. The peeps that are there still cannot have visitors, unless they are on hospice care and actively dying. So sad. And those with dementia just do not understand the concept of masks, let alone social distancing...and they sure do miss their families.

Lovely flowers, Chester. We hope that you do not get tempted to smash em with your feet like we did, trying to catch some invader, real or imagined...it was likely a garden snake or chipmunk that had us forget about the fencing...

That is a lot of squeaky toys in the pool with those sweet children! BOL!

They do not stand a chance here either...and Benji even ripped up a red rubber Kong treat ball...which was empty by the way. Wow.

  15. Mr Chester I hate to say this but you are no great watch dog to not here her come in an greet her you are truly sleeping on the job! My Lee had a women yell at her calling a Liberal for wearing a mask then proceeded to key our car. It is getting violent in our Nati City. Our car did not have a mark on it till then. With the Covid numbers spiking I pray you stay safe.

  16. Dear Chester,

We have been not-blogging for a long time too! We are glad to hear that your ghostwriter's other work place (other than working for YOU!) is Covid free. We are also admiring your lush coat. And also, squeaky toys should last forever. Why do they not last forever?

    Licks,
    Cobi
