Where Does The Time Go?

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your pensive doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Today is November 30. It has been four months since my esteemed colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel left us and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. It seems like just yesterday we were sitting out in the sunny back yard making funny faces for the camera!

Where does the time go?

This morning I woke up and found out Blogville has lost yet another dear friend. Now we at The Daily Bone filled with sadness.

We're sorry we didn't get to know Easy as well as we'd like, but we do know he was a classy guy.

I hope he's running free with our angels Joey dog, Miss Ginger, and Charisma, and our angel friends Ciara, Whitley, Shiloh, Cotton, Mitch, Maggie, Lexi, and others.

Au revoir.

Saturday Yum Yum Report

Greetings foodies! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel. I have an extra special Yum Yum report for you today!

First we'll hear from my Florida associate Miss Charlee.

Thanks Chester. My Dan human just got back from a business trip to India, where he did not eat very well. So Jessy took him to their favorite restaurant, the SybaritePig where they have some pretty fancy burgers, that's for sure! Here are some pictures:

Three Amigos Burger: one patty each of pork, chicken, and beef, with bacon, cheddar cheese, garlic sauce, egg, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and grain mustard on a toasted roll.

Drunken Bourbon Burger: beef, caramelized onions, barbecue sauce, pickled peppers, jack cheese.  He ate both of these burgers, by the way.

Next, we have a report from Maddie cat.

Hello Chester. Last weekend my Joanna human cooked a big turkey dinner for her friends. They do this every year and call it Snarksgiving. Not sure where that name came from, but it's always celebrated the weekend before Thanksgiving.

My annoying associate Tibie kept busy during the mealtime by knocking things off the kids coloring book table.

Meanwhile, we had a few good meals at our house this week.

Sweet and sour chicken, Nishiki rice, steamed vegetables.

Grilled steak, wild rice, and vegetables.

German Stollen

Oh, and here is ghostwriter's TG dinner: Chicken tikka masala with cumin infused rice, fresh from the freezer to the microwave to the table in three minutes! It doesn't look like much, but it's actually quite delicious. I always get a piece of chicken and the last bite of rice! Then she went to work for 14 hours straight.

Don't worry. We got some left-overs from the family turkey dinner.

Oh, I almost forgot. Here are the food related  funnies!

Now, about those left-overs …

A Quiet Day

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your content doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Today is not much of a holiday here. Ghostwriter has to go to work soon, and won't be home until tomorrow morning. Dad is going over to see the family for a little while. Maybe he'll bring some turkey scraps home for me. In the meantime, I have a delicious yum yum chewy doggie treat. I never used to get these kinds of treats when our Angel Joey dog was here because we always would fight over them. (It was the only thing we fought over.)

Our snow is melting and it's drizzly and gray out. The icicles keep breaking off and then reforming.

But I have a yummy rawhide chewy bone, for which I'm thankful. I'm also thankful for my family and for all my good friends in Blogville.

It's nice and quiet here today. I'm just going to work on my chewy bone and then take a nap.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving!

November Snow

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your robust and well-insulated doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel. We're dedicating today's TDB to our good friend Charlie in Australia.

It started out innocently enough Sunday.

2 PM.

2:30 PM

4 PM

By midnight Sunday, it looked like this:

Crikey!

Snow roses at 1 AM

2 AM

Ghostwriter had to drive home in that. She said the roads were not plowed at all in Livingston county, and barely plowed in Monroe County. It took her half an hour of driving 20mph or less to get home! Oh, and that was after she had to dig her car out of a snow mountain in the parking lot at work. Our neighborhood roads weren't plowed either. Ghostwriter says our driveway, which Dad had been diligently shoveling, was in better shape than all the roads!

Monday morning

Ghostwriter had to go to work again last night. She said the roads were plowed, but no one had put up the snow fences in the big fields yet, so there was blow-over everywhere. Here's a gigantic monster snow drift that always forms outside the nursing home by the patio:

Driving home last night, she said there were white-outs from the drifting snow in the high winds. So she was only able to drive 20-30mph. Fortunately, she has today off!

Hooray!

So now I can do a photo shoot outside in the wonderful snow!

When I finally came in, I was covered with snowballs. I had to jump into the bath tub with warm water to melt them all off!
