Lazy Day

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your tired doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel along with  my sleepy colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

Excuse me …

Yawn!

It was a very busy weekend. Trick or Treaters were mobbing the front door on Saturday. Then on Sunday our Jason human came to visit and took me for a long walk. Then our favorite miniature human, Ryan and his Dad arrived. There was a lot of activity by the Evil Squirrel Cartel too. We doggies thought we'd spend today just lounging around!

But then ghostwriter said it was a fine warm day out with bright sunshine and no wind, and that we doggies should go outside for a while.

After the violent winds of the weekend, we thought there would be no leaves left on the trees. But there are still a few hangers-on.

The leaves on the ground are getting all crisp and dried up.

Little mushrooms are popping up everywhere!

I did some good sniffing.

Joey just soaked up the warn sunshine. He's been having some problems lately. When he stands on the smooth floor, sometimes his back legs will just slide out from under him and he'll fall down.

But he gets along just fine out on the grass. Ghostwriter thinks he might have arthritis in his spine that's causing that. Our patron saint, Miss Charisma had that problem too when she got old.

Well, we think it's nap time again.

  3. Oh Joey - Mr Bailey has problems keeping his feet under him sometimes too. Mom and Dad put a long rug on the kitchen floor to help him get more traction. And they try to keep the hair between his two shaved too

  7. It was a busy weekend here too and with that time change, everything is all mixed up. We seem to be getting our meals an hour too late:)

Phantom would slip a lot on the hardwood too. That's why we have lots of long runners on the hardwoods. Even if he isn't still here, Mom says it is good for us to have them too for when we come racing in like wild Indians - no clue what she is talking about:) If Joey would wear boots, that would also help.

  8. Anti-slip socks, those are good, but...I refuse to wear them, BOL! That is why I can't go to my Aunt's place anymore to see my doggy cousin, her floors are furry slippery and I still think I can run like the wind and play chase with him...not a good idea in a split level den with shiny hardwood floors...Murphy is much shorter than me and doesn't run too fast...

It is lovely weather right now! I can bask my bones in sun puddles...ahhhhh:)

  11. Sounds like a wonderful and busy time you had. Joey might need a little acupressure? I have rugs down for the girls because Anne has a ruptured disc in her back (injured 2yrs ago possibly by Mazie when they were running the fence) and slips on the floor. I have also heard of the non-skid socks too that seem to work great. I also give her previcox as needed to help with the stiffness.
