Working Hard Or Hardly Working?

Good evening! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your tireless and assiduous doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel along with my diligent, steadfast, and dedicated colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

Yes, we are wet doggies. But we can explain. Today our humans left us all alone to guard the house while they visited our dear Oma. It was a tough job, but we were up to the task. The Double Doggie Homeland Security System provided a rousing chorus of barking every time we heard a car door slam, or another doggie barking near by. The mail truck received special barking as well. We recognize the sound of the engine! People passing by on the sidewalk were spotted and barked at as they went by. Yes-sirree! We worked like dogs the whole time!

Ahem … well, anyway, it rained on and off all day. When our humans finally got home, we didn't pay attention to the wet conditions of the yard. Joey found a half eaten pear left by a dumb old squirrel and went to his designated pear-eating spot, which is usually in the sun, and flopped down on the wet grass to eat it.

Meanwhile, I rooted under all the hostas to make sure there weren't any mousies or chipmunks hiding there. So here we are, ready for our doggie yum yum treats for a job well done!

In other news, our Jason human got a new car. It's really green!

In fact, it seems to me that it's the same color as a tennis ball. And you know the tennis rules in
my house: the tennis ball is always mine!

Oh, and here's some news we just received from our Florida associate Miss Charlee.

Thanks Chester. Hello there everyone. My human was getting into her car in the parking lot and saw these three suspicious characters (below) giving her the stink eye. I think they were planning a hostile take-over of the parking lot. I'll be sure to keep you posted! And now back to you, Chester and Joey.

Thank you Miss Charlee! Now we're back to work.

(I think we've earned some movie tickets for all of our hard work today.)

  4. peeps never understand how we work 24/7 protecting our homes. They think we are always snoozing or playing but we know we always have one eye open and our ears are constantly listening (usually for the rattle of a treat bag :)

  7. We would much rather get wet from the rain than from the B.A.T.H.S. we had. But it's all good.

Cool new car - at least it won't be hard to find in the parking lot:)
