Wonders Never Cease

Hi everyone! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your introspective doggie host Chester L. W. Spaniel.

We never go anywhere. You would think things might get pretty boring. But we manage to find something wondrous every day; and sometimes we find several things. This little moth first appeared on Sunday. It was sitting on the curtains and stayed there for a long time. On Monday, it started fluttering around. Finally it decided to sit on the table for a fantastic photo session.

Our Joanna human says this is a type of inchworm moth. Amazing!

Speaking of insects, the giant hydrangea bush is in full bloom and every day we see many different kinds of wasps, bees, flies, butterflies, and moths visiting. Our neighbors must think our ghostwriter is crazy because she stands in front of the bush in the bright sun with all of those stinging insects buzzing around so she can take pictures of them.

In the back of our yard, behind the stick pile and the compost heap, in the shade, we found some pretty little mushrooms growing.

Don't worry. We didn't try to eat the mushrooms. But we did find out that this little weed is actually edible and it's called yellow wood sorrel. Ghostwriter pulls these out of the garden all the time!

I think this pear smells wonderful!

Do you see the moon in this picture?

Wonders never cease.

  5. So many wonderful things to see in the yard. We keep getting dragonflies in our screened enclosure over the pool. Then they can't find their way out again. :(

I told Mommy about your comment on my post about the cleaner this morning. She said it doesn't smell like perfume but it does have a mild smell to it....kind of like cinnamon. If you want a cleaner with absolutely no smell, try the Fizzion Tablets. You can get them at Amazon.com if you can't find them in a local pet supply store. The first time you order, you get the spray bottle with your order. After that, you can just order the tablets. You drop a tablet into the bottle and fill it with plain tap water. It fizzes up like Alka Seltzer. It works great on all kinds of pet stains and other stains too. AND IT HAS NO SMELL AT ALL! Just water.

    1. Thank you so much for that advice. There are so many smelly cleaning products that make ghostwriter break out in hives or feel like her lungs are closing down. Dad got a new dish soap once and she noticed it the minute she walked in the house and made him put it outside in the garage! Natural smells are OK, like spice, lavender, mint, rosemary etc. We will definitely check out those two products! Thanks again!

    1. Yes, sadly we remember about your dear Greta. Those mushrooms come up every year, and they're fun to look at, but we have never tried to eat them. Ghostwriter had to stop putting fruit and vegie scraps in the compost because Joey dog eats those, even if they're moldy! What a big silly he is!
