The Monday Evening News

Good evening everybody. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your earnest doggie commentator
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

There is a lot to report today. We'll start with the disappearance of our Jason human. Yesterday I saw the mattress from his room walk away by itself! I tried to follow it, but it went out the side door.

Today his old room looked like this:

Ghostwriter says he moved to a house that he's renting with his friends that's closer to where he works. But what about us doggies? Won't he miss us?

Hopefully, he'll come visit us like the other siblings do.

In other news, this just in:
We finally saw a monarch butterfly checking out the milkweed in our garden!

Maybe we'll see some caterpillars soon. If so, you can depend on The Daily Bone to report the events as they happen! Please stay tuned!

And now for a word from our sponsor:

THE DOUBLE DOGGIE HOMELAND SECURITY SYSTEM

We keep tabs on the neighbors' property too. Do you see that alien invader in his white shorts stealing the neighbor's weeds from her garden? We gave him a good barking at!

Remember, with the Double Doggie Homeland Security System, barking is always free!

And now it's time for our weather report! We've had some spectacular cloud formations lately.

Amazing sunsets too!

Windy conditions knocked some cosmos down in front of garden Buddha.

It's time for our resident food expert Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel, Doggie Chief Inspector, comestibles division, and founder of the Yum Yum Coalition, with some good news.

Good evening fellow food lovers. I'm pleased to say our pear tree is doing well, despite the efforts of the Evil Squirrel Cartel. It should only be a few weeks until we can officially harvest some delicious fruit! Here are a couple shapely pears I've been keeping an eye on:

Thanks Joey dog. That's indeed some shapely fruit!

We have one more story for you today. Besides the butterflies, a beautiful dragon fly visited and stayed for a photo session.

Good night everybody!

Mom is taking the bipeds to see the butterflies at Powell Gardens later this week. We hope she can get some good pics.
