Flower Friday A Day Late

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your exasperated doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel. Flower Friday is upon us again! (Well it was yesterday, but ghostwriter was so tired she couldn't finish writing this news article.)

Anyway, I can never figure out why ghostwriter likes flowers so much. As far as I'm concerned, flowers just make good hiding places for the Conniving Chipmunk Consortium and the Miscellaneous Mousie Mob.

Our gigantic hydrangea bush is blooming. All kinds of bees, flies and wasps are attracted to it.

Our garden looks like a jungle!

The cone flowers are getting a bit ragged on the edges, but the bumblebees still like them.

A  dragonfly sitting in the sun.

Ghostwriter usually uses some foul language when she sees Japanese beetles on her flowers!

A tiny sunflower is blooming under the window bird feeder. It's covered with seed crumbs.

Phlox.

Our garden Buddha keeps smiling no matter what the weather is!

OK, that's enough of flowers! I have to get back to work guarding the pear tree from the Evil Squirrel Cartel. The Conniving Chipmunk Consortium has been making forays into our yard lately too. I'm pretty sure the Mousie Mob and the Sneaky Shrew Squad have started their summer invasions too.

Bye!

  3. Well, sometimes we have to let the humans put their beautiful flowers on display for the other humans to see - and you DO have some very pretty flowers. We are fortunate that we don't see too many of those Japanese beetles here, but Mom says they destroyed every rosebush she ever had when she live in MA and CT. They sure are hungry little devils.

    Have a wonderful Sunday.

  7. We have a jungle here too, but its mostly a weed jungle in the back part of my yard...and the so called garden spots are well, less than lovely...we had so much humidity and wetness early in the year that we got lots of mould on the plants.
And the black eyed susans and coneflowers are furry raggedy indeed...
And the rest if not rotted, are being eaten alive by beetles and grasshoppers...

    Hey, I recognize that dragonfly!!
