Go To Sleep Already!

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your concerned doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Ghostwriter worked a double overnight shift. She left the house at 2:30PM yesterday and didn't come home until 8AM today! Now she is a zombie. I think the humans are terrible sleepers! You might think that there isn't much to do on midnight shift at the nursing home. But all night long people are putting on their call lights, or climbing out of bed, or needing to go to the bathroom, or thinking it's time to get up. They should take lessons from us doggies and kitty cats. We can sleep any time, any where!  Here's a picture of Tibie cat asleep on top of his cat tree:

Wow!

Well, there's not much going on around here today, needless to say. But outside, Autumn has finally arrived. The leaves on the trees are turning all kinds of colors, and are starting to fall down.

The moon has been out too. (Hi Princess!)

Late last night.

Early this morning.

During the day, the sky was brilliant blue.

It was a really nice day and ghostwriter is still awake (36 hours and counting!)

Go to sleep already!

Oh, I almost forgot. Here's a hint of where ghostwriter went in Chicago last week:

Home At Last!

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your newly liberated doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

My humans went away for a few days. While they were away I had to stay at a doggie prison spa. I've never been to a place like that before. But I had my own room with my bed and my toys and a place to go out when I needed to and my spaniel water bowl and my yum yum dinner and treats. There were lots of other doggies there too, and we did lots of barking.

My humans went to Chicago for a convention. I will tell you more about that later this week. But I'll give you a hint: it involves a kind of squeaky toy that isn't a squeaky toy. That means I'm not allowed to play with it even though it looks like a squeaky toy to me!

Ghostwriter said they flew on a jet.

Above the clouds!

And the airport at Chicago is very big, and very, very busy!

She said she saw jets from all over the world there: the UAE, Azerbaijan, Japan, Korea, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Qatar, to name a few. The hotel they stayed at was close to the airport, and she could look out the window all day and night and see jets coming down, sometimes every two or three minutes!

Dad finally got himself a deep dish Chicago style pizza! Too bad he wasn't allowed to bring a piece home for me.

Looks delicious!

And now we're all extremely tired!

Little Egg House

Hello everyone. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Do you remember the little birdie egg that ghostwriter found with the tiny slug living inside it?

Last night she put the egg shell back on the ground in a leafy spot in the garden with the hole facing down.  This morning we took a look at what was living inside it now. A whole family of pill bugs!

NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH

This is a TDB fast breaking news story. I'm on location by the dining room table.
There are aliens in the house! Ghostwriter got some of those weirdo gourd things that she gets every year in honor of Autumn. But, as you can see, there's an alien squeaky toy hiding in this bowl!

There's one in this bowl too! Yipes!

I will capture the aliens and take their squeakers out! Umph. I can't reach it!

Don't worry ghostwriter. I'll bark at them as loudly as I can!

Aha! That must have scared them away! What a relief!

Whew! What an ordeal that was!

Here's a nice picture of Angel Joey dog that was taken just about a year ago.

Sunday News

Greetings one and all. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

I realize that I've been neglecting the Yum Yum Report lately. Well, my humans seem to eat the same meals all the time without much change. They're trying to get as much use out of the back yard grill as they can before the cold weather comes. I've been practicing my food watching technique, and I think my esteemed late colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel would be very happy with my progress.

Grilled bratwurst, parsley potatoes, steamed vegetables.

Pizza and chicken wings from Pizza Corner.

Grilled steak, wild rice, and steamed vegetables.

Grilled pork tenderloin, mashed sweet potatoes, steamed vegetables.

I even found some food-related funnies!

Red and Rover

The Other Coast

Dog Eat Doug

In other news, ghostwriter has been working a lot of hours at the nursing home lately. Say, when are they going to hire more staff?

Yesterday it was my Jason human's birthday! We celebrated last week, though, because of ghostwriter's work schedule.

Happy birthday dude!

It's kind of cold and windy out today. There's no denying Autumn is finally here.

And for my final news item, I found a great video for you to watch.

I wish I had a collar like that!

Happy And Sad

Hello everyone. I'm your doggie reporter and this is The Daily Bone.

I am very happy and relieved to report that our Florida Associate Miss Charlee, her humans Jessy and Dan, and the birdies Frankie, Grover, and The Yellow Guy are all OK, and their house is still standing after the big hurricane. Thank you everyone for all your well wishes and prayers.

Hooray!

But at the same time I'm very sad about my dear friend Ciara crossing the Rainbow Bridge
suddenly yesterday.

Our hearts go out to Ciara's family and her faithful, devoted brother Lightning.

Wooooooooooo.........
