Yum Yum Saturday

Greetings food fans! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your hungry doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

I'm hungry because I'm supposedly on a diet. This is because my humans found out that my Florida associate Miss Charlee weighs the same as I do even though she's twice as tall! Her vet says she's the perfect weight, and my vet calls me Chubby Chester!

Thanks a lot, Charlee!

Sorry Chester. I'm just naturally slim.

So now my humans cut down the amount of yum yum doggie food I get every day. They, however, continue to eat all kinds of delicious stuff.

Chinese take-out: crab rangoon, fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce, fried rice.

Meatloaf, baked potato, roasted beets, parsnips, and carrots.

Christmas goodies from Aldi's.

But don't worry. They can't resist giving me some generous samples from their plates. I guess my esteemed and late colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel was a good teacher of food watching techniques.

The Other Coast

Food watching is an art.

In other food-related news, I heard my friend Tibie has been up to no good lately.

I wonder who did this?

Addendum: Some more Autumn photos.

OH OH OH OH OH! One more thing before you go to bed!

Required reading, humans!

OK. Good night.

Last Night The Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes In The Street

Hello everyone. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your cool doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Please bear with me as ghostwriter has turned on some music that is quite weird and formless from an album of the same name as the title of this post. We didn't see the moon last night because it was cloudy and raining and very foggy. We probably won't see it tonight either, or tomorrow, since the forecast calls for clouds, clouds, and more clouds. But something weird did happen last night.

It made the big maple trees around our area suddenly turn yellow and start dropping their leaves!

You see? Leaves everywhere! Like magic!

The whole yard is covered with leaves.

Gee, I hope someone remembered to pick up the doggie poops.

Because it's too late now!

Bye!

Interview With Bones Daily

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your overworked doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

My ghostwriter has been working like crazy lately. We're very behind on many things here at The Daily Bone. She finally has a day off tomorrow to maybe catch up with our Blogville friends. As you probably know, my esteemed associate, fellow reporter, and food critic Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel crossed the Rainbow Bridge last summer, so I've been hosting The Daily Bone all by myself. I'm also maintaining vigilance by myself for our other business, The Double Doggie Homeland Security System. It seems both ghostwriter and I could use a little extra help. So I put an ad in the local paper. Today I have an interview with my first applicant.

His name is Bones Daily. Well, that seems appropriate for our publication.

He doesn't seem very lively …

Greetings! I'm Bones Daily! Pleased to meet you!

Hello Mr. Daily. I understand you're looking for a job in the broadcasting and security industry.

Yes. I'm quite good at being scary.

Do you have any recent experience?

Yes. I hung around in front of your house on Halloween.

Well, that explains why we have so much candy left.

But I'm also looking for a food critic. Hey, do you have any yum yum doggie treats in your hand?

Nope. I'm afraid I'm just bare bones in that department!

What about humor? We always like to add a little humor to The Daily Bone.

Skeleton jokes? I've got a million of them!

Well, what do you say? Do I get the job?

Well, I have to admit, he is quite humerus! A lot of businesses are working with bare bones staffing these days. And if it doesn't work out, I can always use a fresh daily doggie bone.

Ouch!
