I Passed

Hello friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your undaunted doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

As you can see, we still have no snow! It's 64º outside. The wind is howling and the clouds are rolling by like crazy!

But that's not what I'm writing about right now.

Today I had to go see the vet!

Yes, it was time for my annual check-up. Ghostwriter thought I wouldn't get a good report. She thought I'd need my teeth cleaned. But the vet said my teeth were perfect. She wondered about those lumps I have by my back leg, and on my throat. But the vet said they were harmless lipomas. Dad was wondering if my back knees and hips were OK, because sometimes I have a hard time going up the stairs. But the vet said my joints were fine, and my legs are well muscled. (Whoa, did you hear that my dearest Princess Leah? Well muscled!) In fact, I got a good score on my entire report card, except in the weight area. Apparently I could lose a few pounds.

Well, I haven't exactly been getting much exercise lately because of all the mud in the back yard! While it doesn't bother me a bit, my humans don't like to have to clean up muddy footprints.

The last thing I had to do at the vet was to get a blood sample drawn to test for heartworm. I did a little growling during that procedure. But who likes being stuck with a big needle? The vet also wanted to look at the piece of my poop that Dad brought in a plastic bag. (Humans can be really weird!) Anyway, I got a clean bill of health, and some of those desiccated liver treats they have there. Yum!

Oh, and ghostwriter still sounds like a squeaky toy when she talks. She's starting to feel a little better, but she's still real tired and achy, and has to use an inhaler thing for her lungs. She says it's the worst cold she's had in years! She feels terrible about not being able to go into work, especially right after having two weeks vacation. Her doctor said she wouldn't want to pass it on to the little old people at the nursing home, or her coworkers.

If you ask me, I'd say she should get back to eating regular food again. Jello and orange juice are not going to conquer that nasty bug! What she really needs is a half rack of good barbecued ribs, and a deep fried pickle from Sticky Lips!

Hey, don't forget to bring me home a doggie bag!

NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you a fast breaking news story. There is a high wind advisory with gusts up to 60mph in effect tonight until tomorrow morning. I've been pacing around for the past couple hours as blasts of wind make the house shake. Dad's satellite television reception has been getting messed up too. Thunderstorms are predicted later tonight as a cold front moves into the area. By tomorrow, winter will have returned!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program already in progress.

  5. Good thing you passed. Perhaps your two-leggers will let you out a bit more now that they know you could loose a couple of grams.

When I lived in the other house I used to have really bad tv when there was a storm. And I had to move the bed back to the wall at least once a month as well, because of all the walls moving!

PS: get well soon to your ghostwriter

  7. Good to hear you are healthy, Chester! Tell your peeps you are just fluffy and don't need to go on one of those nasty D things.

Hugs to your ghostwriter and hope she is feeling better soon. My grammy's care home is once again under quarantine due to another respiratory break out.

  9. YAY for a great vet report!!! Don't worry about the weight thing - those squirrels will have you in fine shape in no time at all.

We have high wind warnings here too, and with how dry it is, there is a very high brush fire risk. We have our paws crossed that all those smokers don't toss their butts out the window.

    Happy Dr. Seuss Day!!!

  19. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! I am glad you are healthy! Even if going to the Vet is No Fun. Especially the needle part. Winter and spring can't make up their mind here either! I also hope for more snow before Winter is totally done, because snow is so much fun! On the other paw, warmer days means our person takes us on longer Walks, and also I love the feel of the sun on my fur. I guess I can't make up my mind either! Stay safe in your storm!
