Wow Windy Wednesday!

Hello friends and fans! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your wind-blown doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Wow! Is it ever windy today! There is a high wind warning in effect until 10 pm tonight, with southwest winds 30 to 40mph and gusts up to 75mph. That's almost as fast as Dad drives on the Thruway!

All the dead sticks and branches are getting blown off the trees. Look! There's one!

Other than the wind, it's kind of a nice sunny day.

Tastes like Spring, even.

But the wind makes a sound like thunder. You can hear it coming from the south and then it hits, BLAM!

Gee, I hope the power doesn't go o …

OK. We're back!

Check it out:

The weather man said that they recorded winds of 81mph! Now there's a travel advisory because of downed trees and power lines.

I might as well take a nap, and wait for the winds to die down.

ZzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz …

Later …

NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you this important fast breaking news story. I'm your live, on-the-spot doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

A big tree in our neighbor's yard fell down!

Our fence seems to have sustained some damage. Ghostwriter checked on our neighbor to see if he was OK. He is.

Clean-up will commence tomorrow morning. Please tune in at that time for updates.
Good night, and stay safe.

  1. Chester, as a new-comer to your blog, I just have to tell you that you are so cute and handsome that I love to look at pictures of you, especially close-up face shots. Love those bangs and curly ears!

  2. We're glad the tree didn't hurt anyone. Chicagoland had 30-40 knot wind all day, but nothing like the gusts you got!

    Be safe.

  3. that must have been the same wind that blew through here on Monday night. We had a small tornado touch down a few miles from here and damage about 40 homes. And just two miles away the executive airport had straight line winds at almost 100 mph that caused massive damage. We had those strong winds too but we were lucky to have no damage.

  10. Glad nobody got hurt by the wind or that tree falling down!

It was quite strange to see all those place names together. Batavia was in Indonesia (when the Dutch owned it, I think it's now Jakarta), Warsaw is the capital of Poland, York is in England and Medina is in Saudi Arabia! And you have them all really close by!

    1. The fallen tree was a big beautiful blue spruce. The ground was saturated in that spot and the wind pushed it over.

  15. We lost power last night at about 7:30 and didn't get it back on until 3pm today. It was a bit cold in the house this morning but thanks to our gas fireplace the house temp was raised to a comfortable level. Millie & I helped keep our pawrents warm by each of us snuggling with one of them. Millie is daddy's girl and I'm a momma's boy.

  16. We only lost power briefly but others had it off for days. They had to opena warming shelter here...because the next day the temps went into the twenties during the day and the lower teens at night. Brrr. The roads were blocked here in some areas too. Detroit really got banged up, worse even that here. A big tree crashed over our road just after petcretary got home...yikes! Hope you are all normal now and safe. and warm. We are under a winter weather advisory through Tuesday...sigh...
