Colder Than It Seems

Greetings loyal readers! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your enthusiastic doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Looking at this picture, you would think it was warm and sunny out, and the snow is melting … NOT!

You would think I'd find lots of mud to slog around in and get my feet all dirty … NOT!

In fact, it's FREEZING out! There's an icy wind blowing, and the snow and the ground are all frozen solid.

If you zoom in on this picture, you'll see that on top of the frozen puddle is some graupel (little snow pellets) that fell earlier this morning.

I guess you just have to be patient around here. Actual Spring weather will be here eventually.

In the meantime, I'll be watching out for it!

From every window.

Hey! Get lost squirrel!

Bark bark bark bark!

Chased that varmint away! And look, Molly, I'm walking on top of the snow again!

NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for this fast breaking news story. I'm your diligent doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel. There was an alien invasion in our house at 4:30PM! I got stuck inside ghostwriter's office while this occurred, so I didn't get any photographic evidence of the big truck that backed right up our driveway, or the two guys whom Dad let in the house. But I do have pictures of the alien device they left here. What could it be? I hope it's not one of those government spy things people have been talking about lately. I will be sure to give you a full report once I find out more about it.

We just received another urgent news report about an attack in London. A man drove his car into several people on the bridge over the River Thames, and then got out and stabbed a police officer!

I heard that my dearest Princess Leah and her family are safe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who weren't so lucky. This is a crazy world!

    1. March is totally unpredictable in WNY. We've gotten snow in April, and one year it even snowed on Mother's Day! It's not safe to plant tomatoes in your garden until Memorial Day!

  2. Like you we are still looking for spring. We still have lots of snow but the sun was warm enough early today to cause some mud and puddles in our yard.

  11. Your blog is furry educational, Chester. I haven't really figured out snow, and now graupel??! Here, the only things that fall out of the sky are rain and hail and leaves and bird poop. And it's hard to tell spring from winter from summer from fall...

We're furry sad about what happened in London. :(
