High Wind Advisory

Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your energetic doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel. This is a TDB weather warning! Oh my!

We have high winds today. But as you know, it does not stop the Double Doggie Homeland Security System from carrying out our appointed rounds. Fortunately, it’s actually not that cold out (20 degrees.) Alarmists will say it’s the Evil Polar Vortex and it’s all due to climate change! But my erudite colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel is almost 13 years old, and he says, it’s called typical January weather for this area. No big deal!

The high winds did bring a UFO flapping and flying through the neighbor’s yard.

Do you see it?

Bark bark bark bark bark bark bark bark bark bark!

Bark bark bark bark bark bark bark!

Bark bark bark bark bark!

A job well done.

All's clear on the north side of the yard!

Returning to base.
We hope everyone stays safe and warm today!

    1. Joey dog here. According to the Yum Yum Coalition Directory, payment of yum yums must be provided to doggies posing for photo shoots in cold weather and potentially dangerous icy conditions. This rule was first mentioned and enforced last March 16, 2014 in the post named "Ice Follies" You might enjoy seeing my colleague Chester slipping and sliding on the ice that day!

  3. Good job guys! The wind blows A Lot around my place. Once a whole tree (think Christmas tree) rolled across the field across from my place.
Plenty o' stuff to bark when it's windy!

  6. Good barking at that flapping UFO...
It was a windy day here too, and the lake effect snow showers made for white out conditions. Growlmy was glad to not have to be out in it. Hopefully tomorrow will be calmer.
The roads were so bad in our area that there was a humongous and most horrid pileup on the highway that goes from our town to the next...the police say about 123 vehicles, including a fireworks truck...it caught fire and sent fireworks into the sky...the road will be closed at least until tomorrow morning. What a headache, and so sad for those injured and the one man ( truck driver) that was killed.

    1. Wow! What a mess! We had a pile-up like that in 2008. No fireworks, though! It was due to the windy, snowy weather causing a white-out next to the airport. Got to be careful in this weather!

    2. That was the worst mess on that stretch of highway growlmy has evfur heard about, and each winter there are plenty, a lot happen in that area, its a dangerous section in the winter. Which is why we do not go to our church if there is inclement weather, we have to use that road...
The number of involved vehicles has been upped to 193! OMD:(
And the road may be shut at least through today, if not tomorrow as well.

  7. Oh we have a windy wind here in Denmark too. The first windy wind was a couple a days ago and it was so windy that they named it Dagmar. Now there's another windy wind and it's named Egon. Can you believe it?

    1. We looked up these storms in the Danish news. We hope you are all right and safe in your home. We sometimes get storms from Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. But usually the jet stream likes to fly right above us. This is where the warm and cold air do battle and give us the high winds and big weather changes. If you don't like the weather here, just wait a minute!
